Idk man, mayby, at the very best it will be like AVPR - shit movie with a great Predator design. That is the last thing I’m hopeing for
I think the concept of Skulls is great. Reminds me of the old darkhouse storylines set in the distant past. But I don’t think the movie will be all that good unless they write it in a very specific way so that the whole movie has the same stakes & tone as the Final Act of the first movie. Like the only time there should be a big action piece in this movie is if the Comanche Tribe attempt to employ Horseback Warfare against the Predator. Which again, if they make proper use of the movie’s Sibling theme… that could be how they beat a Young Male Yautja. They ride into battle against it and it underestimates the group and gets its ass beat in because its a cocky youngblood.
THEN its sister comes out to play and ya get them trying to employ the same tactic on the Female Yautja and she has a cool scene where one of the Riders tries to hit her the same way they did the Youngblood only for them to get either blasted into chunks with their Caster, if the Preds in this hunt even use them, or just straight up cut in half with a well timed counter strike. So the Comanche rides past her then he, and maybe even the Horse, fall apart. And that’s when the tribe realises they’re fucked and the 2nd Yautja goes on to curbstomp them all. Forcing the Human Sibling duo to run for their lives and start using more guerrila warfare.

I’ve read your posts, I was just Boston Mills and I know you’re not as quiveringly insecure as whoever this gentleman was. In fact I would say I’m a fan. As for the movie, I’m happy Disney’s putting money behind it and I hope that they don’t f*** it up, I’m going to have to read more about it before my panic though…

As to Disney not fucking it up - it is actually a closed case. They will go full WOKE on this and any other movie they will make simply because of the ppl in charge of the company right now. They now this will blow, they know this will lose money, but they don’t care - all they care about is pushing their agenda

I’m open to the idea of the movie being good. it has more of a chance of being that then The Predator. if it’s bad, it’s bad. We’ll get 'em next time. Just won’t see it. If it’s good, pleasent surprise. if its bad, well so were the last two movies. Most likely outcome is that it is Mid, unless they make proper use of the Theme of Siblings and treat the movie like its always in the Final Act of the first movie for its action: they do those two things and we’ll have something special.

But this is hollywood so of course there will be horses. I mean they’re already butchering the Comanche for having “gender roles.”
All they had to do was make Apocalypto with predator and then this wouldn’t be terrible but instead its going to be about how clever this androgynous indian is in hollywood forest elf style.
that said, this movie was already in the works before Disney.

Rr19 I was thinking the same thing… I mean, who am I to judge, I’m from central Europe, I don’t know shit about Native Americans, but for Christ sakes, I thought Disney is very sensitive about political correctness and stuff… happy that I’m not the only one who thinks so ;-)
I’m from UK, but it still pissed me off how they took out Mushuu from the Mulan Live Action, so at this point I really don’t care, especially how most of their old animated movies are just copy and paste from others lol.

Call me a white knight or whatever the term is but I don’t get the flack for a female protag in a Predator film. You guys realize Alien movies are pretty much female protags? They actually invented that shit, so I don’t really understand what’s so inherently wrong with that premise alone based on Gender. Now if the idea around the Protag was actually bad and made no sense like a pizza delivery guy, then okay. All I hear tho is “Woman bad, based.”
