Agree with most of this. Like the nudge towards stealthy Predator play rather than the mostly ‘wait for a good time and jump in and kill what you can and jump out’ that many seem to attempt.

One small note on what you wrote about Preds, it’s a bit misleading to say they increased Pred health. Just for people that come around and never read patchnotes. They simply increased damage resist to all guns aside from shotguns. Also, they didn’t do it to Berserker so if there are to be nerfs to Berserker’s HP it’s from the pre 1.06 values as 1.06 didn’t touch it.

This would definitely be an excellent step in the right direction for the next balancing patch. I like where your head is at. But they need to get the bugs fixed first, then make these tweaks

I agree for most of the AI changes. I mainly played as a FT member since it was easier to join lobbies. I can tell you that we need more AI and patrols in bases. I wouldn’t spawn them every 5 min after being killed tho.

For the pred, I would only make him quieter in the trees. I would also make him less visible only when he stand still. Stealth kills should be easier, but not a game changer.

For the FT there is a lot of changes that could be done. We’ll see in the futur what could be best. But the GL with friendly fire would be useless IMO.

Totally agree with many points but still got some questions and ideas.

  1. Frag grenades and other explosive things should be buffed. Its damage and range must be significantly increased in order to FT could push predators out if its idiotic camping positions, forcing them to play smarter, not just sitting on the towers.
    Ofc it needs ff as well, to stop spamming this powerful tools.
  2. Berserker is fine now. But if want changes, that u have told, he would be total shit, cuz meta will be changed into stealth killings, where zerker isnt good at all, so it demands more clever consideration and probably complete new vision of this class.
  3. Stealth kills? Id like to see it, but im afraid it isn’t possible to make it correctly at the current state of the game now. Even if it appears, it would be definitely bugged as hell. And i guess it shouldnt be VERY long animation, but predator must be vulnerable at this moment, so moment of attack will be the key point. your suggestion will only make tanks that would try to kill first boy asap and then tank other being buffed as shit.
  4. Fireteam must have pistols by default, as a third weapon, just like predator has wrist blades. Ofc in that case its damage and range should be nerfed a little.
  5. We need more traps, definetely. Bear traps now are fine, but nobody using it as a trapper. It is used to block FT in buildings etc etc. Probably new class, that can play of its traps, idk, cuz im going in analogy - trapper in dead by daylight makes its own hunting grounds where he is a little god.

I am a FT main through and through, I have not played Pred at all. As a FT main I can accept these changes if needed but I wholly disagree with stealth assassinations and all you described there after. This mechanic will be abused and whats to stop the Pred from hunting down the remaining team and abusing their near invincibility?

Everything else I can live with bar the mechanic described above.

I feel like there should be no instakill options in the game, claims are fine because they put in the effort to down them, maybe a damage reduction on claiming kills? (would not be a fan of this mechanic but I would accept it if implemented)

Im not the fondest of having to manage status effects in video games. That being said, I do love these ideas. Makes a ton of sense for pretty much all of them.

You are wholly correct, It was a damage resistance buff. and of course the berz never got touched, which speaks volumes to how overtuned berz was from the start.

I agree, Less echo for fireteam members, might lead to more ability to bait their teamates with mimicry, not to mention just sounding clearer

Unfortunately A lot of these changes will bring their own bugs too, so if they do implement heavy reworks like this, probably better to go straight for them, and then iron it all out, rather than iron the game out now and then have to do it all again after reworks.

Yeah the 5 minute spawn time is probably quite overkill. But they should respawn often enough to be an issue.

Yes, I agree, thats why all of my stealth changes are about the trees, in terms of sound and cloak. Thats why I suggested that Leaps shouldnt be perfect invis, while hopping from tree to tree should. The only benefit pred gets on the ground ideally is crouch walking noise, and crouch walking with cloak.

The reason why I am okay with perfect invis pred crouch walk, is because its exceptionally slow. So it will be hard to make use of unless fireteam tries to rush pred after scaring him off.

Agreed. explosives are underwhelming. FF is very important, but unfortunately its gonna create a lot of opportunity for griefing on FT

Berz Is strong now because he is beefy. Yes, more stealth is going to be required, but stealth kills are HIGHLY limited, and that is intentional. Berzerker should have to stealth to some extent just like every other predator. That is how predators are. However when the shit hits the fan, the berz should be beefy enough to get in there and put those melee weapons to use. Of course with my changes, all predators would be a lot more squishy, meaning that berz will be the best at making use of the melee tools.

Stealth kills, being extremely slow, but extremely strong are designed to strike fear back into the fire team. Because of the extreme limit to one or two maximum per match, I do not think they will be overpowered. The animation should be at least 10 seconds, and then on top of that, the damage resist super buff afterwards, while 30 seconds might be a bit much, should be long enough to give the predator a chance to punish any fireteam members that think they are hot shit.

Fireteam pistols being a default would be interesting, and I do like that idea, but unlike pred, who only has one variant of plasma caster/wrist blades, fireteam has multiple pistols. That being said I think that the fact that the fireteam has back up weapons aside from pistols, in either the current way, or the way you describe, is perfectly reasonable. These are special forces after all.

Pred needs more gear in general, Not just different kinds of traps, but recon drones, like the falconer in predators. Other really neat stuff like that would be awesome. As for a new class, I dont think that they need any new predator classes. The classes are meant to fit playstyles, and nothing more. the equipment he brings is essentially the class.

I agree that this mechanic can be abused. My numbers on how long everything should last are me just winging it. However, the point of the assassinations, besides being cool as all holy fuck, and also encouraging predators to stealth up close and personal, is to break up the fireteam, Make them run away scared. This is why the idea is that it can only be done once or twice a match. It is overpowered, but considering that the idea with the stealth changes is to bring back down the beefiness of all predators, berz included, I feel that this is an okay idea, and gives predator a decent opening.

The beauty of this, is that until pred takes that kill, not only are the fireteam gonna be shitting bricks about the trees, but they are gonna be sketched out by everything in their surroundings, as pred at any moment can take their lives. That is a hell of a lot of scary.)

A counter to this, also is the fact that later on I described that fireteam damage should be buffed for each lost member, This means that predator has to play smarter and smarter as he picks off prey. It also prevents pred from outright slaughtering the team before they can call reinforcements.

Stealth mechanic… Well i just dont get it, why u suggest to make predator invincible during that? it is going to be abused, as it was said before. Im telling u, there will be a strategy to just “go get one asap and then kill everyone who didn`t manage to escape”

There could be ways to limit the feature, And if you read some of my other replies I have already talked about some ways this could be balanced.

Ill throw out another idea, and thats, that when it happens, the fireteam has increased run speed, as well as mud up times, allowing them to quickly mud up and run the fuck away when it happens.

Regardless, Predator still has to get very close to perform the stealth kill. And depending on which class and how much energy he has, this will be very easy or very difficult. For example, a berzerker wont be able to perform this kill unless the fireteam is being exceptionally stupid and standing still alot. The berzerker is more likely to screw it up.

many variables to consider. But one thing that cant be denied, is that this kind of thing will keep the fireteam on their toes, lest they become the first victim.

Yes. that is great idea. I mean about interacting, cuz it is so dumb u can`t do anything about that. One man literally escaped in front of me just interacting with the rope and taking tones of damage, while i tried to get him with ma wrist blades. Strange thing really

Really? Ive never had someone tank my wrist blades when on the extraction rope. Though thats because I keep up the pressure before the helicopter even gets there, so they never have enough health to tank the blades.

I was playing with the last man standin. An there he is calling for helicopter, im running around and so on, and then he is getting to the rope. WHatever, he just made it alive, really strange thing

I honestly can’t tell half the time which one of my teammates made the sound the echoing is so bad.

i rekon ballance is good now and needs to be left for a good month or 2 to get stats as people adapt to how it is now. if its constant flux and always changing no one will ever adapt to the game and learn whats what. and it will always seem unbalanced.

I reckon balance as it us now, while finally stable, was never meant to work as is and still suffers greatly from exploits. Beyond that, it doesnt play like you would expect from a pred game. That could be fixed by the above.
