I think that the part where the pred can stealth kill a player and be invulnerable in the animation its a bit too much, the buff thing is nice and all but the point to stealth kill a player would be to punish hard a FT player that splits away from the team. Letting to be invulnerable will allow the pred to get a free kill to a distracted yet close FT player that WILL insta ragequit

Not exactly free when pred needs to get in close to secure it, which could be difficult, even with stealth.

Lol if someone insta rage quits because they stood still and got ravaged, then thats their problem, not preds. There are reinforcements for a reason.

That being said I defo do understand that the mechanic might have abuse, but there was literally no point in putting it in the tutorial in my opinion. Why the fuck they gonna add stealth kill animations but only let pred perform them on the braindead AI. Very sad.

I say we bring it in. Sure its op, but its not like pred can stealth kill the entire team one by one. Its an opener. A tactic to strike fear into the fireteam, etc.

On the stealth itā€™s a big no. The camo used by the predator ā€œbendsā€ light, thatā€™s why any movement is detectable. And you are asking for little noise from the predator footstepsā€¦ Keep in mind that they are pretty big and pretty heavyā€¦ And slow movement already makes it harder to detect themā€¦

There are players around that are capable to stay unseen and unheard until the time to strike. People are doing it, so there is no need to make this easier. And stealth killing should be something you need to work for, putting a FT member in a weakened state. And itā€™s made easier now with the less medical supplies people get.

and you seem to forget that the predator is a HUNTER and not a Super-Soldier/Assassinā€¦ He is still made of flesh and green kool-aid.

But these are not balance suggestions, these are completely destroying any balance there is.

I disagree. Those who are ā€œcapableā€ of staying unseen are playing against very bad players that wouldnt be able to find predator regardless of these changes.

Predator is a hunter, But each and every predator is capable of taking out the best of the best special forces, without breaking a sweat. And that is how the fireteams should feel. They should feel like they are no better to pred, than the AI right now is to them. Thats the fun. Its not about winning as FT. Winning should be a struggle, not a stupid fuck in a cowboy had screaming yeehaw as him and his friends knife gangbang pred.

Finally, Balance goes both ways. The stealth was upped, but all predators were toned down in damage resist. So Even though pred should win because thats the whole point of the fucking game 9/10 times. There was steps taken to ensure that pred is still killable.

Great job and I do agree that they should remove the perks that gives either factions a damage/armor boost. If that ever is out of the way, it will most certainly (not entirely) bring down complaints of ā€˜saidā€™ faction needing a nerf/buff. Weā€™ll see what happens hopefully.

So you think Iā€™m a bad player? Shouldnā€™t you consider the people that are unable to utilize the stealth system in this game right now as bad players though? Because I consider the ones that are able to get through the match without losing their biomask to me as pretty decent predator players, as they know how to play and make use of the tools, and know how to move unseen-ish and unheard-ish.

Soā€¦ A struggle for the FT (who consist of 4 heavily armed, highly trained specialists) and a cakewalk for the Predator (Who weighs around half a ton, stands 7 or 8 feet tall, can soak up over 200 minigun rounds and moves like friggin spiderman in his underwear)

A thing you forget: ā€œThe Predators are are an extraterrestrial species characterized by their hunting of other DANGEROUS species for sport and honor, including humans.ā€

So no, Hunting DANGEROUS species is not something he does without breaking a sweat. It shouldnā€™t be easy, thatā€™s why he hunts WORTHY prey.

And there is the kickerā€¦ The point of the game is for the predator to win. And here I am thinking games where meant to be fun. And for you fun seems to be easy victories. The game is called HUNTING GROUNDS, and what you want it to be is STOMPING GROUNDS or TRAINING GROUNDS.

Achieving easy victories are hollow victories with little to no skill involved. It is supposed to be a challenge. It is just sad that people who are unable to pull it of want it to be handed to them on a platter. Right now it can be a challenge for both sides, depending on player skill. And thatā€™s just it, what you are asking for is the removal of the skill-gap. If thatā€™s what you want, go play animal crossing or something that has no skill involved?

(By you I do not mean the OP or the person replied to. By you I mean the people in general who are asking/demanding for buffs/nerfs to whichever side they are playing and playing against to make it easier for them to win without putting in the work, and in the process make the game less enjoyable for the people who actually put in the work and increase their skills in the game, predators and fire team members alike.)

WOooh! Finally someone that can deconstruct everything I say.

Alright lets get started, I will admit that some of the shit I said is absolutely asscheeks, and will go back on it, because it was very hastily said.

  1. No, I dont think you are a bad player. I think that the servers, since 1.06 are flooded with ridiculously bad players. Because every time I get a decent team, we go right back to the AMAZING gameplay of I cant even wipe my ass without the fireteam spotting me. The only time I can get close, is if I stand on a tree cloaked somewhere, along the most likely way they go and trap them. Which can be done, but if they are spam spotting you, they will probably hear those wonderful clicks too. However 90% of the time im not playing a special forces team. Im playing more AI with different skins. At least thats how it feels and man is it depressing.

  2. You are absolutely correct, but you my good sir forget that in just about every bit of media on the predators excluding comics, Predators TEAR through those special forces teams of fully armed specialists. Predators fuck people up before they even know what the fuck pred looks like. And thats because in the stories, the cloak is far more effective.

No, I am not saying I want a predator that can walk through the fireteams because he is the predator and i want an I win button. It still needs to be skill based, but the stealth needs to be far more forgiving, and the melee less so.

What I am saying is that ā€œworthy preyā€ isnt the entire fireteam running at me with knives because they know they can bully me. And I know that its easily avoidable, but as a pred, even seeing that shit makes me wanna quit the match outright because its just so ridiculous.

The fireteam should not be Playing this game like they can win. They should be scared. I should be scared, but not because of stupid shit out of my control fucking me over. I should be scared because if I fuck up its over.

  1. You are right, its supposed to be a challenge. But right now we dont have challenge, we have 2 extremes. As predator (assuming everyone doesnt leave right at the beginning like idiots) Either you get a full team of absolute goobers that probably dont have headphones, Or you play against a team of aimbots basically that will spot you if you move at any time.

This is not fun.

The first one, is obviously boring as all hell and thankfully those matches can be ended quickly with the game as it is now.

The second one however is frustrating, because Its not a challenge. Its bad luck mixed with even the most decent players.

Now its not so bad right now, because of the damage resist buff. But the unreliability of the stealth, was and still is the real problem with dealing with the fireteam. And no matter what they do, until that is addressed, once fireteam players start getting good again, we are gonna see a rise in predators bitching again. I swear on my life that the main reason that this patch has felt even decent is because the fireteam players that were playing pre patch, are not playing anymore, and we are getting new players. it really feels like that.

i pretty much agree with all of your points though i would also remove any perks that effect dmg reduction as well if we remove the + dmg perks and then the stealth kill buff would just need to be short iā€™d be more on line of 15seconds at the most for such a thing or letting it be longer but reducing the predators move speed to ensure he doesnā€™t just wipe them the FT suddenly

You are speaking about predators stealth abilities, but uve totally forgot about FT stealth. The main issue in balance of this game is a little misunderstanding in FT role. Now it is like 4 tanks that are running through jungles covered in mud just to be invisible for the predator. How da f&@k they even know about the predator in the area?
Fireteam must run stealth in priority, that is my opinion. There is no special forces, that are fighting guerillas like that, it is just ridiculous. It is not militia, not army, it is special forces. That is why we need AI improvements asap, probably some stealth kills for FT with knife.
And yes, they shouldnā€™t look for fighting predator, definitely. They should be able to use their skills and experience to hide and trick predator. And if predator running zerg rush they must be able to eliminate him in any point, just like that. But they must be extremely vulnerable to its weapons, that is the way.
So the main points:

  1. AI improvements. Right now there is no possibility for stealth missions at all. And stupid AI is just pointing u to predator, even if u trying to hide.
  2. Extremely high damage for both sides! Maybe some hardcore mode, but at least we can test it. And thus=>
  3. Stealh mechanics for both sides. There is no point in high damage if there wont be any stealth for FT or Pred. One side just eliminate other in second. So improvement of stealth will conclude in almost instant death for mistake for both predator and FT.
    U are trying to zerg someone, running directly on the fire? Well done, now OWLF will get a new body for experiments. You are paying alone? Want to get more veritanium? Forgot to mud up and stuck somewhere? Well, your head will say hello to other skulls we have here.
    But stealth is the keypont. FT should prioritize the mission and surviving, not trying to kill predator.

Agreed, Stealth should be important on both sides. But mudding up should probably be restricted until the first contact from pred. They wouldnt know that they need to get muddy, and its not like the guerillas are running thermals.

That being said, They would have to rework the system, because as it stands a brand new player would fuck his entire team with not having a suppressor yet. Etc. Its alot of work, and rework

And yes AI are braindead and need to be fixed at some point no doubt.

I donā€™t know that I would like all of these, but most I think I would. This is an excellent post.

Yeah, I did say. Most people wont like some of these changes. But until they are implemented, we wont really truly know how they will pan out. Most people will just look at the small details and say thats too strong or thats too weak, but when you look at the game (as well as these changes) as a whole, I would say that they will make the experience better for everyone.

That is why I absolutely bump this post every single chance I get, when it isnt near the top. IT needs to continue to be seen. So that the devs are more encouraged to read it. Because even though its a wall of text, and its gonna be hard to read for anyone, In my opinion, its the changes we NEED to get this game on top.
