For some reason I have a feeling when you’re trying to stand behind a finite piece of machinery forget that the coding was done on a PC, asset creation was done on a PC, anything UX that goes on a console has been done on a desktop wether it be Mac, Windows, or Linux

There is an exception however, I think there has been releases of games I believe that try to address this but the majority of functionality and capabilities of operating systems like windows supersede xbox or playstation OS, if it were me trying to make a console work to the fullest extend I would gut it for its components and see what I could Frankenstein into working running an OS that isn’t deadend

I don’t think I even need to get into VMWare and emulation but put it this way, you think an office worker is going to do spreadsheets on an xbox?🤔

You have no clue what you are talking about. Development is done on desktop computers because it is easier for developers. For example every phone application was developed on desktop computer even the phone have different OS and they work fine. BTW Xbox OS is based on Windows, Playstation OS is based on FreeBSD which is base for Mac OS X.

My eyes are fine, it is your brain that farts. By creating things on desktop computers does not mean they are superior. They are just good for people who produce content. Tablets are good for people who consume content. Phones are superior to PC in energy consumption for example. Consoles are just computers optimized for gaming, nothing less, nothing more. People use them, because they want to play the game and not take care of installing OS, antivirus SW, solving problems with updates, etc.

In terms of UX you are wrong too. Majority of games don’t use anything from OS user interface. Every game developer can tell you all they use is function to create window (without borders) and rest is handled by game using DirectX or OpenGL.

If you speak about Xbox or Playstation user interface used to select game and possibly make some settings, then they are just fine too. Microsoft tried to make unified interface for PC and phones and we all know about “great success” of Windows Phone.

If you are so smart, you should get up your lazy ass and show all these dumb people in gaming industry that they are doing it wrong. I bet people at Microsoft or Sony console development can’t wait to hear your great ideas.

You can simply prove me wrong. Just elaborate on Operating Systems, User Interfaces, User Experience, Virtual Machines regarding PC and console. Because you mixed all these things together without any sense. Your English may be better, but what you said in the post I originally commented on, is simply wrong.

Maybe you can admit you just wanted to look smart, used few technical words you don’t have clue about and we can end this discussion.
