Plasma spammers??
I use the bow often. It’s not.
I bring it in most hunts, but I really only use it on good teams. I love using the combistick, so I main with that.

the issue is people dont know how to deal with it. if 1 person is getting plasmas, AS SOON AS that first shot is heard, all 3 of the others that are not gettin plasma’d need to instantly turn and melt the predator and make him run away.
If you cant see where the plasma is coming from, or see the lasser, or hear the pred in any way. then you are too new to the game or have an ineffective team or just bad.
People that have played long enough and have a good team dont have any problems with plasma.
Cant balance the game around potatoe team im afraid or it ruins the whole game for everyone that can play. its too easy for a good fireteam and impossible for a predator to even get near the FT… its been like that a long time and the good fireteams were winning 100% of matches without even braking a sweat.
Some of them still are, but atleast some changes have been made in the right direction.
I won all of my games yesterday except one where i was dumb. BUT i didnt win them becasue i am Uber elite predator #1 … i won them because the fireteam were uncoordinated potatoes who just bunnyhopped around trying to avoid fire and never returned fire… they all tried to revive one guy, they all hid in 1 room or mudded up together next to eachother lol…
Teams like that will get melted in minuets and so they should!

I can only agree to Thunderwolf in this discussion. I send you a friend request on epic games, we will show you how easy it is to revive downed people without field medic or a support. You can use your bow as much as you want

I personally dislike bear traps (I don’t use them either). I have a hate for them. I have a hate for players who throw them at your face. I bully them… that they can’t hit me unless they trap me… but… I don’t tell them not to use them or how to use them.
Same shit goes to whoever tells me to stop spamming the disc, plasma, bow, bunny hopping… shut the fuck up

I say a mini game like how Battlefront has there overheating system, if you don’t hit your mark fast enough, then you run the risk of overloading your energy. Different classes should have bigger or smaller area’s of cool down (depending on if they’re a melee based class or Range class) plus this doesn’t mean you can’t keep spamming but more like a temporary breather for the team to fall back into cover, regroup and rearm
dude really a good team doesnt need a breather. against a good team i dare not even charge my plama because they WILL see it instantly and punish you for it. most of the game agaisnt a good squad is corner play and backing off using splash damage as they chase you around the map. You are lucky if you get 1 plasma hit in, and as soon as you do the other 3 have about melted your face off in 5 seconds…

(I personally believe the base caster shot shouldn’t be as effective as it is and should force players to utilize max charged shots, but apparently people have an issue with this)
This games community will never know what they want. Or they are here to jeopardize the future of the game due to their own personal angst towards it. Funny really… can’t just go play another game or direct attention towards something else.
Guess we are gonna have to deal with this for its existence.
its not the only viable weapon, its just one of the only viable weapons against a good team.
Bow is too easy to strafe avoid etc, melee is a death sentance unless you have already weakened them with something. traps dont work they see them…
Nets are good again, just to get a quick claim and net 1 while u do it and jump away.
Again the issue is its seems to OP for a uncoordinated team who dont know how to counter it. as soon as you know its no longer a problem. in fact spamming plasma is just givign the FT free time to melt you… like saying “hey im over here standing still for ages, please shoot me”
Since the demo of last year, I’m currently maxed out and it’s just a cheesy way of making out with a win. like I wrote before I don’t mind a few spammers every so often but with the right build. Don’t take it away but, incentives specific classes to use the plasma caster as the range weapon, not just spamming jumping/running all round the trees…

He has a huge sign on him saying im here shoot me?! and leaping is a known and fixed trajectory so you can get a few easy shots in while hes mid leap and he cant do anything about it, cant strafe or avoid it…

I said what the typical defensive response most people try to use when people bring this topic up.
People don’t see how it is an issue (probably because they themselves use said tactic, or no longer play the game and are here just to start shit)
Just makes no sense to have a caster that you can pot shot and have ZERO incentive to charge it fully.
No one has brought a viable argument other than:
- FT IS OP.
- DONT NERF PRED.
Like do any of you that even mention this play the game?
The BASE caster AOE and DMG need to be adjusted to encourage the caster to be used appropriately. (Chsrging it to max should produce the more dmg and desirable outcome, instead of making the hand caster useless)
