I haven’t played as Pred since the cloak update so I will hold my vote until the new predator dlc

But as FT I feel it’s fine

Maybe it should react the same as if it touches water when shot?

Maybe it’s effectiveness should be tied to Pred HP?

While i think the cloak is great as is now. I can understand people wanting to move the visible distance back from 45 meters and see this as a reasonable thing.

Thats good. If I may ask do you find yourself relying solely on sound against pred now?

I dont think this is a good idea as it will only punish predator further for his clicking, making recovery from ft spraying along branches to check for pred hitmarkers much harder.

No I can still see him

I agree. Though I think sound should be looked at simultaneously. I dont mind ft being able to see a moving predator at long ranges, as much as I mind them being able to pinpoint preds location regardless of the cloak purely from the clicking. If they change the range they should also change the sound at the same time.

Just my opinion tho.

Gotcha.

Wait, but technically i voted as in “better” to actually make the cloak look as a cloak which would let players now see him as transparent shimmerish being instead of light dark blue entire texture lmao…

So technically i guess its a combo of better and worse… but also it will give players more fear lol i guess… or like sort of… i shit i saw him effect

The clicking I find does give the Pred away but I also feel not enough preds take advantage of audio decoys as they are really effective

Shit I should have asked if people had headphones as one of the questions. That way I could see any correlation between lack of sound with the actual sound question.

You should of just made it yes or no.

I dont think theres a point me making a poll now tho.

All sounds bleed together via stereo tv speakers IMO

I recently had to move all my belongings due to raging wildfires and when I moved back home I hadn’t set up my surround sound yet and the tv speaker experience is horrendous

Thats true. Audio decoys are a powerful resource. But I dont necessarily approve of the reliance I feel the game puts on those. Im not fond of being required to bring specific utility to combat highly exploitable game design. Feels bad. But also if they make the sound non-directional then audio decoys will be far less useful. So its a double edged sword.

A solution however could be that they change the audio decoy to play only one sound. Pred healing/roar. That would be a good change of its design without removing it outright. Plus it would open up better gameplay opportunites as you could use it as a trap, especially in conjunction with a bear trap.

I wanted some specifics, besides the poll isnt so much important as the impact its meant to give, and the conversations I wanted it to inspire.

Yeah man. Definitely is. Thats why the high sound reliance in this game hurts a lot of the playerbase so much imo.

Also sorry to hear that. Wildfires were a bitch, some are still raging. I was lucky that the one near me got contained fairly quickly. Im glad you got outta there tho and are safe, as shitty as it is.

I’m not a fan of limiting the sounds made by audio decoys

Maybe a hold breath mechanic?

Where you hold a button to not click while cloaked

OR

Predator is silent until he attacks

So sound is critical, I feel it should tie to the cloak.

Push the visibility back to 75 meters, make the sound echo heavy at that point though. Beyond 75m, sound is directional, but movement is invisible.
Audio decoys mimic all predator sounds but are strictly directional.

It was more of a precautionary measure I was never in direct danger but thanks for the sentiment

The predator cloak is alright now but a good team is still able to find out where you are. Overall, the game is moving in a good direction.
