I mean, general public wouldn’t understand how or why a human would team up with a Pred, despite it happening already in AVP and in the comics. I’m just really curious to see how it happens in this. I am happy to see it getting a theatrical release, something I felt Prey should have had.

Well, there must be a reason for the Predator to team up with her character. Question is, what the hell do they need to team up for?
I would hope to fight another Predator, perhaps a Bad Blood of some description, because I really can’t see any reason for the Predator to need help from a random human to kill other humans or something like that. Predators pretty notoriously tend to consider human females a non-threat in the first place. If it were just hunting humans, I don’t see why it’d need or want the help of a human to do so.
I feel like they may be keeping some kind of secret under wraps about the Antagonistic figure that they would theoretically need to team up with eachother in order to defeat. Predators have only teamed up with humans in the movies before for one of two reasons:
- To fight Xenomorphs
- To fight Super Predators
So, let’s hope it’s one of those or something similar, and not just other humans. Seeing as it is in the future on a different planet I believe, it could just end up being some other kind of alien species.
All just speculation of course at this point, but I guess we will have to wait for a trailer to drop before making more theories.
Lets consider what we know cuppled with what she shared. Casting call called for comedic chops or somethin and she teams up with predator…predator is getting humanized -_- idk trying to be optimistic but gonna be honest dont ha e a good feeling. I really hope im wrong and this movies good but im kinda worried now

Well the only good part that i read outta that was giant monsters so im gonna try and stay optimistic. No word of the trailer release for everyone else?

Hopefully. What has me worried is the “strong comedic chops” shit that was what they were lookin for and also the team up but only cus i feel like they’re gonna have predator be humanized maybe having facial expressions which to me seems lame and looked out of place in avp cus predator should be stoic with that mad dog look from predaror 1 but im willing to bet they’re gonna have some type of relationship aspect, not romantic, but like…mmm im tryin to think of an example cus its been done before in other movies but yea im kinda worried but the big monsters thing has me holding out hope that its done right
Yeah, this. They can fuck off trying to humanize the mysterious hunter aliens from space, I just want cool action from a pred who wins once for a change

Now while I do agree with you, remember the last time info like this was given to us with PREY and it turned out to be something both different and exciting? I’m not saying it’s gonna be the same but it might be something alittle more different then what words could describe for something epic to enjoy.

I think a lot of context is missing from that trailer. Like…there has to be a reason the Pred is working with Fanning. It probably is some kind of honor thing, she probably came up with a way to kill one of these giant creatures and he found respect in that. Trailers usually spoil like the whole movie (like the new Megan 2.0 one, I swear that was the entire film) but sometimes they are very vague and misdirect the viewer, and I think this one is going to be like that. And a lot of what she’s saying can’t be taken as literal fact either, like by saying the Pred is a “good guy” could simply mean it’s not actively trying to kill her, or is protecting her from the creatures on the planet. It doesn’t mean it won’t ruthlessly slaughter other humans during a typical hunt as per usual. I dunno. We’ll all gonna find out sooner or later.

Exclusive Footage Description: CinemaCon 2025 audiences were the lucky few who got to see the first footage from Predator: Badlands. The footage sees a Predator crash-landing on what could either be an alien planet or a post-apocalyptic Earth. For the first time in franchise history, the Predator is truly outnumbered, with alternating shots of human gangs hunting down the Predator with laser rifles. Elle Fanning plays a mysterious and possibly cybernetic human, since we see her eyes roll to all white, who is trying to help the Predator. We see a new variant of a Predator chief with long white braids performing some sort of ritual.
There’s a flurry of tiny bits that’ll be exciting to explore further, namely a tease of a sequence involving a large subterranean chasm and plenty of showings for the Predator’s new weaponry. The teaser ends with Elle Fanning telling the young Yautja protagonist that what he’s hunting is unbeatable, only to briefly see a massive creature that the Predator is going up against. Predator: Badlands looks like an entirely new territory for the franchise, but one that builds on Dan Trachtenberg’s excellent revitalization of the series in Prey.
Confirmed to lean on the classic design with a darker color palette
We see it use a speeder type bike, a sword that looks like it heats up at the end. It’s more otherworldly than Prey was.
I’m sold
BTW it’s confirmed to be in an alien death world, where even the plants are trying to kill you.

To be honest I always felt Elle Fanning or Ellen Page would have made great appearances in an Alien flick. So her being in this predator and Death Stranding makes me take serious notice.
I just hope they written it well and NOT be a joke like The Predator was.
The monsters they describe that the predators are fighting against, i hope they are well designed horror creatures.

Youve given me some hope with some of this so im gonna remain neutral. The classic design is a big plus, bit a speeder bike? Wut is this predator meets star wars? The main things that had me worried was “strong comedic chops”, possibly humanizing the predator, speeder bike, and new variant cus that didnt work well in prey in some aspects
An example of relationship aspect i was tryin to think of well i jus thought of one idk how it didnt come to me yesterday but 2010 kong kong with ann and kongs relationship where its not romantic but humanizes kong and some comedic parts between them. Only it worked in king kong.
Id hope its done as youve laid out but were talkin about a company who messed up an iconic franchise in star wars and even after backlash kept on with the horrible formula further ruining star wars so lets hope there wasnt as much studio executive tampering
