A Weyland Yutani synthetic teaming up with an edgy emo Predator… But some of you complain about Prey?? And “You won’t know it’s an AvP movie until it shows up in a movie unannounced”?? My expectations are low and I don’t care how cool that Pred v Pred fight scene looks, how tf does a WY-Synthetic get cosy with a Yautja to begin with? Clearly the youngblood with the birth defects doesn’t deserve to be blooded.

Lol disney will fuck up somethin that will bother you they always do, if you were ok with designs then they were ggonna do some other stupid thing that might irk you then youll sound like a lot of us and others will shame you for not worshipping it lol

When I prayed to see Elle Fannings eyes rolling back in her head, this wasn’t what I meant… The director/writer dude has already taken creative liberties with the established lore in Killer of Killers with the whole “Nah, you don’t actually win because they kidnap you and force you to fight until you die on a Yautja planet…oh, and they have a Bible called the Yautja Codex” (seriously, wtf?? I do NOT want to see scenes of Preds reading fucking books or keeping extensive libraries like Jedis). We’ve seen Youngbloods, they do not have spasticated foreheads like that.
Still, we are still a ways out from the release so hopefully the backlash about the design will prompt some changes.
I’ll point out the good points about Badlands that I see so far

Elle Fanning taking a double duty role and already the reveal is she is going to be dragged along without half her synthetic body

WY is in it as a backstory lore which is pretty much saying there is more AVP in this than we thought (how much or how little is not quite clear but either way its a plus because it brings in technology and some context to it which makes this film grounded in world building)

At least there are predators…don’t know if they will be exploited or how well it pans out.

Anticipate Arnold ties because if 2025 Dutch is in the lore of PHG. If they don’t use that it would be a missed opportunity to not do anything or mention it. Such a huge fanbase already.

If the story basically follows Elle Fannings characters’ monologue than I’ll be happy. She has a pleasant voice that could bring a lot of character to what she either sees or doesn’t see.

If basically we don’t understand the yautja language then point 6 is a plus. Them having a language is not a big enough thing to warrant but if there is a conflict then at least there will be context to the blurting of their language for that reason alone.

Fede mentions that there might be a predator in his next Alien film…well I guess there is more movies to come in the AVP franchise after all. That means that this or the next Predator film (last one) will have stronger AVP ties. Hopefully not an all out effects party and hopefully some story. Should there be, it should be balanced against Badlands and how much use of it.

I see lots of strange plant monsters or snakes or whatever on the planet…not sure how well they explore this but at least there is a potential battle ground to be used in a future game or at least provide context of the world itself. World building is important, not just the journey.

whether or not they stick with the new yautja design is not a huge issue. There are so many types of designs now its not a big enough issue to not tell this story. Lots of whiners out there about this and I haven’t bought many action figures of predators to cry with them about it.
Agreed. However if any changes come one things forsure it wont be like predators as we knew them before disney owned it. Ive mentioned it many times, but Dan has already said his peace on why he drastically chanhed the biology and it was because HE felt things werent right so now hes doin em in his version of what they should be which is closer proportions to humans (even tho its “A FUCKIN ALIEN” All are body builder cut with like 18-20 packs smaller heads, thinner dreads, more human like hands, wearing almost clothes instead of the signature armors, and now in badlands will have a family dynamic, facial expressions one of being, in dans words, “Smiling”, i can go on and on but again someone will come shame me for noticing obvious changes to somethin that made predator as iconic as it is…or was.
I do agree with alot of your points tho but we know how disney is and to keep holding out hope is setting yourself up for disappointment. Action MIGHT be ok tho everythin else most likely will be terrible and taking any mistque the predator had left

Well consider me one of them “whiners” lol but number 9 was valid all the others have counter arguments though. I admire your optimism tho as mine has ran out thus makin me a “whiner” as you say. Back on the grill you go cheeseburger and im too lazy to edit the apron to say “fook the cook”

I think the only thing weird is the eyes… They aren’t too detailed or maybe its that one shot you have as your avatar. I think these design as long as you view them from all sides will grow on me.
The necks look natural for movement.
Looks like its closer to feral unmasked. Lame. Got the cornroll dred combo i see with some shoulder pads lookin like if dante beast mode was a predator. Still hate the design choices
