Predator hologram gadget

I’m sure this idea has been mentioned before, but it’s been a while so time for a refresh.

  • the gadget would have 3 uses normally and 4 or with large pouch.
  • it would create a predator image that would be indiscernible from the real one.
  • it will mimick all predator action (e.g. firing of a bow, PC projectile, jumping, melee)
  • it will appear at 180° or opposite of the real predator (will adjust for elevation if pred is on building or tree)
  • it will last for 5-7 seconds (for a sneak attack or for a getaway; it can be used in second wind)

Thoughts?

Sleeper OP and should probably replace audio decoys

For randoms for sure, but could be interesting for premades

I think audio decoys should be an auto equipment!! Like the pred should always have those on them!!!

Thats like going duck hunting and forgetting your duck call!!!

@Anyt1m3 I think this would be a cool idea!!!
They would be stationary?? Would they have a health bar to take damage so they they wouldn’t auto know its a decoy!!!

If you placed two near could you force a walking or running animation??

They basically do everything a pred does when activated. It’s not an item that is throw as an audio decoy, but something generated from the mask.

No damage is shown, but if real pred gets damaged, the blood will show up on a decoy. But not the other way around. That’s how you tell the difference.

You can use only one at a time

Sounds like Total Recall to me LOL!

Right you are. That’s where i got the idea

That idea has lot’s of potencial.
I would like to see that in-game.

Cool idea, it would be interesting if it had a unique stylization to it. but of course, you’d have to conceptualize further.

I like this idea, it reminds me of the decoys that the Wraith had in Evolve.

It does. It has to be fair for the FT as well.

Thinking about it more, it would be entirely baiting the FT because they can’t tell the difference right?

Never seen it, but sounds like the groundwork for it is available to look at and consider

Initially they want, but once they try to damage the pred, of blood does not show up, then it’s a decoy. They may also be confused if different FTs try to damage both at the same time. Communication will set things straight, but if they are randoms, it could be confusing for a bit longer.

Also. Cloaked pred = cloaked decoy.

It could also be nice if clock is activated when approaching FT. Both will make a sound (that’s how Id have it), so FT may be confused which direction the pred is coming from.

Lol with audio!

Another way to tell the difference is collisions. An FT can just run into the hologram and tell that way. But that’s fine, it’s not means to be sustainable, just a short term trick.

It may also be possible to tell if pred is meleeing and FT at the edge of building or stairs and the hologram wouldn’t be coating in the air (i guess it could be, but that wouldn’t the ways to approach FT). Ideally I’d like the hologram to autocorrect for elevation (if pred is shooting a PC from tree, the hologram would be on the ground if no tree is present). Kinda complicated

All simulated by the mask. I know it doesn’t make much sense, but it’s a big part since FT uses audio clues even more than the visual ones

Im afraid people might complain out right that its a bug…BUT if it were a PRedator dog or hell hound or an AI, then maybe it might be something. buti guess that negates the initiative of seeing a fake predator in a buggy game.

Why?

Specifically

Yeah, i could imagine that it would create a number of bugs.

A dog would be simpler. Has an HP bar attacks FT only. Can perhaps also retreat and feed on boars to recoup HP. Would give FT potential two targets to worry about. But he’d have to do something special I’d think, to warrant FT attention. Perhaps he could act like a moving bear trap and disable one if the FTs for a few seconds. Would be interesting
