Predator: Hunting Grounds, Stat Values & Guide (Archive)

It’s pretty easy to hear the Predator with any kind of headphones. On PS all our headphone audio is bass boosted so it’s not as precise as PC audio unless you’re wearing wireless headphones, in which case the audio quality should presumably be fine, but I haven’t tested that myself.

A large portion of the tracking problem is due to Illfonic making the Predator ridiculously loud in this game. Plus if the Predator is injured at all they bleed a ridiculous amount & you can be tracked pretty much all the way across the map if you don’t heal. If you’re on a night map though, they will track you regardless because there’s currently a bug where the Predator will still bleed profusely even at full health on night maps. But that’s all another topic.

The main subject here was about how the spotting mechanic shouldn’t be able to quite literally tag & track the Predator, but moreso mark a waypoint as to where they were sighted, like in the Evolve game I mentioned above.

Thats the point dude. If you needed to sleuth those miniscule details you’ll be dead in NO-TIME. To think that you need to dampen any of these traits is stupid.

Superficiial means you get the game pacing that you get.

You make it sound like you want it to be Alan Wake 2 and need to take a powder and retreat to your mindmap room and make a power point pres and stick stickynotes to the wall and wind strings of coloured yarn to polaroids.

People on PC play this game on SPEED, and people on console are like vegetables. I don’t even to go into much detail to explain what that means. but it means they play the game at a much slower and considerable pace with dependancies on other players to back them up which they can’t be there for.

I just mentioned the Predator blood as another issue alongside the audio. You don’t even need to track blood 99% of the time anyway, you can just rely on sound, which is the main problem, as the Predator is absurdly loud unlike their movie counterparts. None of it is complicated. The lack of stealth for the Predator is the main issue.

are you playing a movie or a virtual set? and don’t say movie.

no dude.
predator have no sound making and then blood on ground and you can just shoot the bood and you find pred haha. i give no brain cells for this response.

Relevance?

I don’t think you have any brain cells to give anyway

bang bang you’re dead!

this is bad game design… many games do this… according to those guys sound penetrates everything without distortion, distraction, reflection or losses…
so you cannot play as observing predator without Disciplined…

See now I don’t understand why FT doesn’t bleed. Yeah plasma is going to cauterize any open wounds instantly but wristblades? Arrows? Combi throws, traps? You are bleeding like a motherfucker. At least make it somewhat traceable. Smudges on medkits or ammo crates would be overkill since you can obviously tell if they were there, put smudges and smears or drips during sprinting and clot it when using a stim. I just came up with that shit on the fly, like Illfonic doesn’t even have brainstorming meetings at this point

I think realistically pretty much almost all Weapons should deal bleed damage😂

Especially the likes of the Wristblades.

One mechanic they could’ve introduced for the Bow is that you have an option to remove the Arrows or not. If you leave the Arrows in your body, they slow you down, but if you pull them out, you take bleed damage.

It’s theoretically simple stuff that they could implement.

Eh
Decent against potatoes sure

Exalted

Health: 1300
Second wind health: 1200
Stamina: 24
Stamina recovery: 3.2
Stamina exhaustion duration: 1.1
Speed: +9%
Predkour speed: +30% (best of all Predator classes)
Energy: 2400 (best of all Predator classes, same as Pirate)
Energy recovery: 160 (worse than Pirate)
Melee: +13%
Melee stamina regeneration: 0.25 (one of worst)
Perks: 11
Gear: 12
Specializations: Stalker, Brute, Disciplined

Dual Swords

Damage (raw damage 30, 40, 50 is reduced by FT slashing armor by half):

  • Primary: 27 - can be parried (30 + 30 * 0.8) * 0.5
  • Combo: 63 - can be parried (30 + 30 * 0.8 + 40 + 40 * 0.8) * 0.5
  • Secondary: 45 - cannot be parried (50 + 50 * 0.8) * 0.5

It has 80% “splash” damage defined, I guess 15 forward slash + 15 * 0.8 back slash, that would give 27 for primary? This needs in-game testing to confirm.

Range: 300 (same as Elder Sword)
Swing hits multiple players

The combo is slow (slower than Elder Sword); the FT can simply back away and get out of the sword’s range.

The stealth kill animation feels a bit disappointing—kind of like trying to eat with chopsticks for the first time.
