Predators have really easy wins set up, but no one wants to play cheap which is great. Like I said, you can down teams on sight if you wanna be a douche, but it’s no fun. What predators need is more balanced variety. Give them class perks like fireteam to enhance build varieties.

You really don’t need to be reluctant about it. It’s almost as bad as the rooftop slam spam. I’m okay with caster damage through walls, but you can skill-lessly spam the outer walls or rooftops of almost every building to eliminate the fireteam.
Maybe a compromise between the previous radius and the current radius could be made, but it’s definitely too much splash damage at the moment.
Nah no caster through walls. Slam spamming on rooftops I think is ok because it doesn’t do nearly as much damage but it frightens potatoes.
Slam will scare newbs and nudge regular players but PC is what deals with those 4 man building campers that just park and camp.
Radius of the uncharged shot should be reduced. This’ll incentivize full charged shots more and reduce plasma spamming, make it a little easier to use buildings for separation and a “quick breath”. Also make it easier to counter by pushing obj when they just spam out in the open.

Fuck sake. God forbid predator have ONE ranged weapon that actually puts some fear into the precious FT with their litany of stacking damage buffs and broken fucking perks and specializations.
This is why paying against a half way decent team just isn’t even fun anymore. They have a huge advantage not because of skill, but because of hilariously one sided mechanics.
What do people mean by “plasma spammers” are they referring to uncharged shots or charged shots?
If uncharged then everyone just unload on the pred considering they’re just blatantly telling where they are and that they’re not gonna move anytime soon.
If it’s charged shots then the FT has to find where the shot came from, spread out a bit, and shoot the preds head the next time they pop their head off (this is only if the pred is smart or doesn’t have dithered lens). Even then there’s quite a bit of time to get the fuck out of dodge before the next shot so I fail to see how it’s spamming.
The only nerf that I would give the plasma caster is reduced hit radius of uncharged shots.
I recently tested this for some real numbers. The plasma caster uncharged shot direct hit for 42 damage and the AOE damage started at about 35 damage and ended at 15 damage. So the uncharged shot really isn’t that strong.
I still think the radius of both the full charge and uncharged plasma caster AOE should be reduced.
It doesn’t have to be strong if it’s rapid. Uncloaked at range you can volley all day, land your shots away from the target and whittle them down while they’re moving with almost no effort or even aim. That’s my biggest gripe to it all. At least with the bow even quick firing you need accuracy but with the shoulder PC you can theoretically down someone running from the train yard to the compound at the top and never land a direct hit.
Fair enough. I would say reduce the full charge radius and make the uncharged radius 25% of that.

I’d be okay with this if we had alternative to dealing with camping. Honestly give pred a grenade that has a concussion boost. Does more damage in confined space like a building. I see this getting abused but at the same time I’m spit balling here for options to limit skillless Pred play but also discourage FT cheese

Camping always had a few counters. You could lay traps outside, they have to leave to finish the mission, you can slam for 24 damage in a huge radius, and you can find an angle to fire inside through doorways. I’m just not in the camp that thinks the radius needs to be so big just to deal with campers.
The main issues I see with the fireteam are the damage of the sawz50 sniper rifle, the long range(beyond 25m) damage of the meta assault rifles(mercenary, hammerhead, AR-W, and GOSL-R), the short duration of field medic revives, and the 20% damage reduction on support. These could all use at least a 20% reduction in effectiveness.
Reducing that radius opens up some spaces though. The garage on derailed, the large building in the compound at the top of the map, glass roof building on backwater…
Can’t really think of larger camp spaces on excavation or overgrowth. They hole up in those spots and tuck the corners with health kits and map spawn health and just sit there the whole match. Trapping doesn’t work because they don’t care about the mission.
I agree FT needs some tweaking but honestly the thing I’ve been thinking lately is everyone usually answers pred complaints with “play smarter” or “play better” as if the whole game hinges on predator game play, mean while potatoes go durr and win matches because of two decent FT players landed on the same team. What can we do to advance FT play and make it more involved instead of the constant nerf/buff we see?
