Not only that they also gave us Alpha predator, Dante, Female predators (first time on screen anyway) and Samurai and Viking predator and the OWLF tapes all of which added to the lore of the universe. Fortnite has not even come close to adding to predator lore.

For not caring about Fortnite you guys seem keen on arguing about Fortnite.
I made this post so that people who enjoy Predator being in Fortnite could discuss it rather than people who hate Fortnite arguing about the lore in the description.

Well it’s not Fortnite’s fault they crossed over. It was Marvel wanting some promotion. You’re arguing about how Fortnite ruined it when it was Marvel’s idea.
No it’s just “Forknights” fault for being candyassed and turning everything it touches into a candyassed joke
A game having a style and other franchises wanting to be a part of that game doesn’t mean they need to change the entire style of a skin and the ability to use emotes while wearing it. You can’t blame things for having a style that appeals to some people crossing over with a franchise which has a serious style. If it’s their game, they can do what they want if it’s ok with the person crossing over with it. This means Marvel acknowledged that it would look cartoony and they went with it because they know that the game has it’s own style and they can’t be picky about it. Heck, you don’t have to use cartoony emotes and things with the Predator skin. You can be as serious as you want with it.
Can I rip someone’s head off? Can I shoot a shoulder mounted plasma cannon and watch it sear a hile right through someone’s body? Am I going to instill morbid dread within my prey just by them hearing the momentary scream of a fallen comrade I dispose of? Will I get to feast on pigs? Will I get to hear crass dialogue?

Does any of that fit with Fortnite’s style? No. They have creative liberty. You can’t blame them for trying to appeal to an older audience while keeping the majority of their younger audience.

Anyway like you said none of that fits with Fortnite’s style. So why are they adding in crap that doesn’t fit the game’s style? Nobody wants a kid friendly version of Predator, Terminator and whatever mature franchise they choose next. That’s what we’re getting at. It just does not belong in the game.
Exactly my point. Oil and water don’t mix. Just like Horror/Action doesn’t mix with dumbass hip hop humor, autism and cartoony PG play it safe games.
As I said you want to go play that shit go play it. But the existence of predator in fortnite doesn’t help this game or the franchise except give leeway for them to make predator child friendly, which it shouldn’t be.

marvel bought AVP and now markets AVP things such as predator in fortnite, and fortnite + marvel are big partners

I’m not sure where you got that from. As far as I’m aware marvel only own the rights to make alien and predator comics. Fox still owns the IP of Alien, Predator and AvP.

To make this clear, I know Predator doesn’t fit, but I still like that he’s in the game. It’s fun to play as him and kill fellas with Yautja guns. It’s fun to play with the antagonist from my favorite movie in a game with less bugs and more active players. I don’t care if they don’t add anything new to the franchise, they still added something fun to do in the game.

This is the problem. Fortnite throws in skins of any franchise they can get their grubby little hands on. Soon they’ll be adding in the human centipede as a skin just for cash. Would it make sense to have in Fortnite? No. Does it fit the vibe of Fortnite? No. Mature franchises don’t belong in kid games that don’t respect the source material. If we let companies ruin the legacy of franchises and turn them into things they’re not just for money then we’re going to get garbage movies, series, games etc. People will buy it and the IP holders will think it’s a good idea. I mean would you really want a PG animated version of a Predator film? Because that’s what we’ll get if it continues to happen.
Watching Fortnite clips about Wolverine and Predator makes me wanna try out Fortnite again.
But then I remembered…I can’t build the whole city under 10 sec like some players while shooting you in the face.

Exactly! And to be fair the franchises are already being subjected to that. Look at Venom. Those comics are fucking brutal especially when they involve Carnage, but the movie is playing the “inclusive” route and it’s stupid.

Isn’t it just lol. I thought I’d at least give it a try and see what it’s all about… couldn’t even fight the predator because everyone and their nan was at the spot building the 7 wonders of the world and I couldn’t find a way to take him on solo so I just gave up lol.
