They are boring, but maybe they dong have to be. Hunt and use of tech is central to what they are. Both can be expanded on. Give pred more cool gadgets and weapons that change up the gameplay. Instead of just hunting humans, introduce other species (from comics) as playable characters to either fight alongside humans or to be the bosses for preds to fight. Might still be boring.

One-note 80’s franchise monster can’t be expanded on without turning into capeshit which is why everything comes across as fanfictiony.

In terms of things that tries to stay grounded was the concept of cleaning planets but that doesnt work for them either because they should just glass it from orbit.
Game preserves are ok.

That sounds great! The skulls are trophies of achievement and they do hunt something till they die to it, that’s pushing themselves to hunt better prey and that’s what makes their life exciting! Like I said to travel in a spaceship, seeing new stars, traveling to a new worlds every day, seeing new beautiful sites on the planet and new creatures to hunt?!
