By far in my opinion, I agree while also thinking Machinko is a close second.

Destiny being the perfect example of that with champions and the other stupid gimmicks, raids in other games are a perfect example, the list goes on.

Aside from human and xenomorphs, who actually poses a real threat that they hunt?

Mario fights bowser.
Z fights sigma.
Cloud fights sephiroth.

These fights pose a huge threat and they can not hold back because if the do they’re going to die.
So aside from engineers, which I dont know enough about, who poses a serious threat to preds?
And yes, the way they’ve lost was beyond fucking stupid for a race whose supposed to be incredibly smart.
Bell curve on intelligence I suppose. Also, some are stupid, some are arrogant, and some have bad luck. There are a lot of ways to lose a battle.
Its also, easy to judge from the sidelines. Like “Feral is so dumb,” but in the moment it’s harder to make the best decisions.
A personal story, I lost an MMA fight by arm bar after having back mount. In hindsight, I made at least 2 big errors, but during the fight everything is happening so fast, it can trip you up.
I mean compare feral to jh.
Jh went full stupid at the end but for the majority of the movie he seemed like an actual hunter.
He found the trap, got killed by the counter balance out of pure bad luck.
That’s one thing in games but as a challenge runner who chose to do it, you can’t deny the skill.
JH saw the trap and avoided it, what he fell for was a side mechanism of the trap that wasn’t even intended.
City lost to abandon to hand fight when exhausted and burnt out
Celtic got stabbed in the back
Chopper was a dumb ass so your right there
Wolf got bombed
Tracker was slow
Falcon was skill issue
And gold fang got hit with a 50 cal. After a series of blows from an axe.
There’s not many stupid deaths and even the ones that do exist are commonly in groups
