Ya that’s post colonial, when every comanche was called to be a warrior. Pre colonial era, which the setting for this movie, women were not considered warriors, hell they didn’t even hunt. And in Native American culture the Hunter is intrinsically entwined with the warrior. Therefore if a woman didn’t hunt and 99% didn’t, then it is inferred that warrior women were very very uncommon. Therefore one with any logic can deduce that this story and this plot and this character were created for 1 reason: the message.

If there wasn’t a loud “rrreeeeeeee” from some corner of the fan base I wouldn’t feel like we’re legitimate, every fan base has knee jerk reaction areas who scream Mary Sue as soon as they see the trailer the alien franchise had a female lead and it wasn’t terrible, the director’s done some good stuff and I’m happy that the IP is getting more content. If it is trash then it won’t be the first time

Director has 1 film and the only sci-fi aspect of it was the last 15 min & it ensured that franchise never got a theatrical release again. Ripley has a gun, no one would care if this was Isabelle vs Predator sequel. The gun offsets the need for triple thick plot armor so no suprise when everyone goes “mary sue yas qween.” Pred spent the later half of the movie tossing arnie around so fighting a 90lb woman with a tomahawk makes this more eyerolly to whoevers left here. Even if its a 90lb guy its sad.
I think there’s a fraction of the fanbase that will cope indefinitely alongside the ppl that enjoyed The Predator because they are that starved for IP content.
