Prey direct connection to P:HG

Many of you have probably heard Dan Trachtenberg saying how him and the crew spend hours In P:HG before and during shooting of the movie, and how Feral movement in trees was inspired by predkour in game.

But I found something else – not sure if just a MASSIVE coincidence or is there more to it. Prey takes place roughly 300 years in the past, right?

Well, Sean Keyes, in his recordings, states that bone and blood analysis of City Hunter’s severed arm indicates that he was just a juvenile of his species… about 300 years of age.

Not to mention the flick pistol that appeared in Prey and then reappeared 300 years later on Lost Tribes space ship (City Hunter’s clan)

Yup - the man addmited himself that the predkour inspired the tree movment of Feral

It was interesting to hear him mention the game about the movement of Feral in the trees - made sense with some of the Predkour movements especially the lunge from the tree that led to Feral cutting off his own arm.

Yeah, he must have been a young blood to do some of the shit he did (not really understanding how his bolt gun worked).

He mentioned the game in an interview about how he saw/wanted the Feral’s movement in the trees. That was the extent of PHG influencing Prey.

That’s cool I guess, but this game being the reference for a movie makes me feel embarrassed for how unpolished this game is. Why can’t illfonic fix fundamental gameplay issues like getting stuck on or leaping strait up from tiny rocks and other small objects.

Weeeeeeeeeeeell… not sure…
what about the moment when he attaches the wolf skull to the back of his belt…
That was a total rip of the game XDDDDDD

Those roots and tiny rocks are super strong dude - they can stop a Predator leap, no problem.

Could be, sure, haha

Answers so many questions about how much a fucking noob feral was. Plus now everyone can see what happens if we nerf or eliminate the plasma caster

I’m surprised Illfonic never retweeted any tweets regarding this. Care to give us a link to where they mentioned this?

I also like how, if Illfonic ever puts the effort into it, can make forest mountain maps with the same kind of movement of parkour in spruce and conifer trees. Some people think it wasn’t possible due to how the branches aren’t large or strong enough but there are trees up in the north that not only can do this but Prey showed how it can be done with thinner trees just as well. So much potential…

I think what happens if there’s a prey 2 naru will aggressively die of death and instead of her skull the predators will take her pistol as a trophy

Very nice hearing about the Predkour thing, I missed that interview

About the 300 years thing I don’t think I see the correlation, except than the fact that, maybe, City was born around that period (following HG expanded lore)

we could say that the ships in the end of the credits are of the Lost Clan itself, maybe Feral was part of it, and who knows maybe they had a young City aboard too.

City hunters clan could be a evolved form of feral predator or if it’s already bin proven that feral is a different sub species then city hunters clan could be the one we see coming down at the teaser of prey and that they fought feral predators and died, or circling back to the fact that city hunters clan is evolved from ferals feral could have bin modiefied a lot and be a super solder. I’m guessing though I don’t know a lot of lore other than what was flat out told to us in the movies.

That’s Greyback the elder of the lost tribe, he is just a normal Yautja. I’m pretty sure they’ve said Feral is a subspecies, and most of the other Yautja in the lost tribe look normal so I’d say that your theory is debunked.
