Iâm not meaning to sound like a dick đ can you name any though? The first movie had memorable characters , real suspense , thats what prey lacked and I cant see the comparison to the original. Naru didnât feel like she was in any real danger ,she literally failed her way up to killing a born and bred alien hunter. It wasnât a natural feeling progression in my eyes , she sucked until she had to proceed the plot. It just didnât feel natural , thats just my opinion though.
Dutchâ team didnât have a fucking clue and were scared , you could feel their dread . This movie just plodded along with no motivation but to prove one person could prove theirselves, the original was a team trying to survive and one person did by the skin of their teeth . that was real suspense, cat and mouse feeling . This movie was so wooden and hollow.
Even her speech at the end was the equation of masculinity tells me I cant do something and that will be its downfall . Its clearly saying women can do it .
I dont give two shits about it being a woman, but solely on women can do it , give me a break . Aliens or terminator never once told you âthey are women and they can do itâ . They were characters who had to survive , naru was the opposite, she WANTED to do it so she could prove people wrong . Its total bullshit.
Dutch wasnât proving something , he lost his whole team he was responsible for and said fuck it , letâs go . He didnât have a choice when his team was being hunted and by the end he either died or put up a fight .
Pred 1 , 2 and even 3 , it was survival . Pred 2 was more revenge but Mike was targeted as a worthy opponent . Feral wouldnât even hunt , jungle hunter took out a stray (hawkins) ,then took out their biggest gun . It was calculated and suspenseful. None of that was replicated in prey . Anything feral faced would fuck him up . The main actress even said the predator was a side note in a comanche movie . Which ,wasnât even fucking accurate đ they were representing comanches but got 99% of it wrong

I like the idea that a show needs a quantity of characters. Prey Focuses on, Naru and taabe. Quality over quantity.

No she didnât. This idea relies on the idea that the predator wouldnât of killed the comancheâs anyways dispite the fact that she warned them that it existed given them a heads up.

They got slaughtered (after she kicked their ass) because they were out looking for her đ they even fucked up the formula , after saying they corrected the franchise? The whole âshe wasnât a threatâ was because she wasnât armed and engaging him in combat ,somehow that got turned into âshe isnât seen as a threat because she isnât a worthy opponentâ(a woman).she even gave a speech on it đ . Her brother saying he is the thereat? They were eluding it was because he was better than her , he was a threat because he was engaged in combat . The movie was all over the place.
This movie was sprinkled with this , not as in your face, but they sure were shoveling it any chance they got.

Ripley ,newt and hicks? Hudson , Bishop, drake , vasquez, even fucking gorman was memorable đ he always was an asshole. Burke? Fuck , even apone I think it is. We also werenât told every 5 minutes âlook , look , shes a woman and can be a threatâ . They were fleshed out characters and Ripley didnât even kick ass until she drove a tank and picked up a pulse rifle . She had to overcome losing her family, losing her other family who were killed in alien and she faced her fear to save newt . Aliens is a great movie , prey was naru thinking about what she wanted, not listening to her tribes traditions and basically correcting everything they said because she knew better

This way, Naru gave them a heads up that something is out their, had she not, they would of been caught off guard even more so.
U less you want to argue that the predator wouldnât of been able to kill them on their own turf, but then Iâd argue that you didnât even watch the movie.

And her failure to properly start the fight in the first place was a failure of her skill.
True the movie did have equality themes but it was done well.
And that speech had different meaning for each group that was involved.
And he was engaged in combat because Naru was too busy dealing with being incompetent for the moment.

The first quarter it showed us she was competent with medicine and knowledge but was a bad hunter.
Not to mention it dropped the theme for the entire middle, brought it up once at the end to tie it all together, and then left it at that.

Like Iâve said. She doomed her entire tribe thanks to her ego, and even IF the pred would have found them eventually and killed the hunters/warriors then it proves preds have no honor and would have led to the death of the tribe by leaving it defenseless.
So which is it folks? Is she an egotistical moron who doomed her tribe and took the credit for the pred killing itself by complete stupidity OR do preds have no honor and kill without conscious for a quick adrenaline fix like some kinda junkie?
