But James Cameron just explained exactly what happened. Charging doesn’t enter into it. The plasma burst would’ve put a hole clean through Dutch but the gun took most of it’s energy. It’s that simple. Everyone I’ve ever watched it with sees it. You can pause the action and see it hit the gun. Quite impressive for that era actually.

No, you see a spurt of blood. Then a chest wound later when they check the body. I think any exploding head would have looked bad in that era. There’s also the possibility of the previous commenter being correct, maybe the pred could fire a low power shot. Perhaps he wanted a headshot powerful enough to kill but not destroy his trophy.
When Blaine’s body is in the bag you can make out an opening in his chest, which considering he got shot in the back means the bolt had to have blown him clean open. Considering this is a detail you can make out but later on Mac’s head is perfectly intact after a point blank plasma bolt to the face I figure that there was always the subtle intention of charging being a feature of the Caster.

Probably had a giant exit wound on the back of his head. Besides the movie makers clearly just wanted to do the blood all over the camera shot. Again I think we’re over thinking this. James Cameron is definitely willing to take different power levels as an explanation because it kinda works but it’s also completely unnecessary as it’s a fun 80s action movie which we are over analysing 35 years later.
How is laughable though? A gun is stronger than flesh. It wasn’t a plastic toy Dutch took with him. That’s why if someone beats your face in with a gun it’ll be your face that gets wrecked before the gun. And as I said it literally doesn’t stop it, it takes the majority of it’s energy. The fact they even thought to go into that detail 35 years ago is very impressive.

James Cameron thinks that it’s literally not real and for the umpteenth time, the original movie came first. If that’s how the caster works then that’s how it works. Whatever source material you are basing your blatant refusal to accept clear facts on came later. As such it is these other sources you should criticise. I have now explained several times that what made it through to Dutch’s skin was a highly weakened shot. Your statement that a metal gun can’t take a bunch of that energy makes zero sense.

It’s It’s a slamdunk. It’s a smoking gun. It’s a steaming turd on Johnny’s bed. It’s an image of round earth from space. It’s visually verifiable and available to all but those who refuse to see it. To debate it further is utterly pointless. Comanche version has more translation to what is being said.
That scene when Naru and Tabbe are fighting it in the camp, Tabbe gets the upper hand and Pred cloaks and moves away - Tabbe shouts in comanche “Cheater!!!” - I was like - dude, this is so much like P:HG XDDDDDDDD
