How can you balance this kind of game btw? Isn’t it hard? How you balanced it out so that it makes everyone happy? Yes there has to be a point. It gives both sides advantages and disadvantages. Illfonic will be monitoring statistics and feedback to decided on what they should do on next patch. I’d love them to fix bugs and make game more playable rather than fixing balance though.

I won’t completely abandon the game because it’s against my nature to abandon something I payed money for, but yes this was bad update that gives me no confidence in this company looking forward other than they will cater to well children. Half of these complaining people were not even born when Arnold let the predator live.

Agreed. Bug fixes and performance should always take priority over balance. Balance is something that will always be changing.
I’m level 65 and have been enjoying the game quite a bit. Meanwhile there are people cursing the developers talking about how much the game sucks and how incompetent Illfonic is.
Is it perfect? No. But it’s not awful by any means either. Shit, it’s been out for a week. Balance is a complicated beast, it’s something that’s going to go back and forth for awhile until it feels right. It’s just sad that instead of applauding the fact that they’re grinding and fixing, a lot of people are calling them names and saying they’re clueless.

It saddens me because I thought they did a pretty decent job on friday the 13th as I played that game from day 1 basically and are familiar with ills work. With this predator game I see the lessons they learned from 13th so I was surprised on some of the decisions they made for this

What is apparent to me is that they released the game too early. It should have been put back in order to do more testing. All we have now is a division in what people want. Majority of Pred players were/are unhappy about how underpowered they are. However, now a lot of FT mains are going to get upset that they will be getting lots of nerfs.
The fact is, the Pred was and arguably still is suffering from some pretty poor balance choices. This is coming from a Pred main (me) that does win a lot of games. But ultimately, if a team is coordinated the game is frustrating rather than enjoyable. The key is to make the game a challenge, but still make you feel like ‘damn I lost that one but it was so much fun’. At the moment you end up losing because of bullshit and realising it’s broken. Big difference.

Before I fight for a refund I’m switching from a FT main to Predator. It’ll be my first game as Predator. I’m on PC though. Watch everyone leave. lmao
I just figured I’d key in once here as people may be misinterpreting my point. Predator was/is OP at high levels of play, Illfonic has no idea about how the game is being played by people at a high level of skill. By catering to the low level players they have ruined the chance of some high level players wanting to stay, the writings on the wall regarding balance. You are bad at games if you are losing with predator in its current state. sLaugR is pretty much just affirming why I am leaving.

I think pred is only able to play at sub normal lvl because of current broken mechanics eg. Trees noises and being spot spammed where fireteams on the other hand get to play at normal and high lvls because they can just run any combo they want as far as gear and perks classes need passive abilities that do more then this lame gear point system that needs reworked.
That’s honestly what they should have focused on from the start was fixing the bugs, glitches and technological problems. Balancing this game is pretty much impossible unless you just nerf everything to its most basic form, everyone is gonna claim something is op or other even if they haven’t tried a strategy to overcome the obstacle.

Ballance was pretty good except abuses of skill perks that stuff is expected usually they just tweak the skill lightly but not here lets adjust pred hp that wasnt needed and nerf the 2 things everyone said not to and one nobody even brought up the granade launcher this patch was bunk i hope they roll back a cpl things for tomorrow but i thinks it wont happen so il just marathon predator movies this weekend and wait for more patch notes.

I’ve played game for years. It was obvious Fire Team was OP. Now this guy wants to leave? HAHA. He just let everybody know he can’t win unless the Fire Team is op. Good riddance! We don’t need people who play favorites.
FT losers are mad that they actually don’t have the easy time anymore.

I played FT before and was sorry for the preds sometimes. I find the latest balance more challenging ! I hope they gonna keep tweaking and adding stuff until the raw diamond this game is shine as it should.

It sets a bad prescedent about their choices in ‘balance’, when it’s just become a massacre simulator after the 1.06 patch rather than being an asymmetric game that’s balanced towards the hunted’s favour because they are trying to complete multiple objectives.

All the que time problems would have been non existant if there had been bots for both roles, many would have opted for that to learn the ropes.
This online only model is this games downfall because the pvp will allways be lop sided the weapons should have been left alone except the knife dmg ,that was a smidge too high.
What theyve done now is really fuckin weak and made it so there is essentially one way to take down a team melee spam if you can even get that close because the real game breaking shit is still very alive and well.

Yeah we didn’t need changes like this to the predator they should have been listening more to the fans I’ve never heard some one thinking of adding flash to second wind or slam that’s op in the wrong way u can’t stick close or far it’s just easy picking now they messed this up 😩😩😩😩
