Its exhausting that everyone reacts the way they do simply because I say fps doesn’t really take skill.
Like I dont say it out of malice or anything like that.

I do not, at all, see how something so easy to do, can be such a huge indicator of skill.

Of all the genres that out there I don’t see how such a simple concept could be used as some indicator of skill.

Theres no combos, no specific inputs, no real memorization, like theres so many things that are not required in shooters that make it so fucking simple.

But this doesn’t really matter.
I do find it ironic and a bit hypocritical that you claim melee is braindead because it’s one button, YET FT ONLY USES ONE BUTTON TO ATTACK AS WELL.

Literally the only difference is one is close range, the other is ranged attacks but can hit up close as well.

Your complaint about the melee tracking isnt valid because games have always had that.
It’s just common sense, your character would follow through with their attack, tho it would be nice to be able to switch from free aim, to mix it up.

Anyway it’s not hard to deal with.

I’m glad you think my idea is good and yes, I dont see ilfonic being able to pull it off.

As for my original reply, I still stand by what I said.
Even if you implement this change you’ve suggested, you still have to lower ft damage to balance it.

I dont think pred should be able to land a full combo while 4 ppl are shooting him, but I do think he should be able to land like at least 2 hits without losing half his health.

It isnt fair or balanced that pred can be melted so quickly.

Aside from that, I wouldn’t mind trying this out, your suggestion that is.

Like I said, if aiming and shooting was so easy that anyone could do it so easy, there wouldn’t be so many cheats for that shit. If you can’t see that, doesn’t matter, the rest of the world does.

They killed each other with friendly fire, they weren’t trained soldiers, and they were 100% caught off guard.

That’s not a good arguement.
As theres cheats for everything.

I’ve seen hackers in smite, a moba.
I’ve seen hackers in dfo, a beat em up type of game.

Theres cheats, mods, hacks for every genre.
So no, it’s not unique or special to shooters.

Tell me, what’s a new gamer going to have an easier time getting into?

A shooter or a fighting game?
Which will they grasp faster?

There are combos in regards to using certain weapons then switching to another one fast, you need to press certain keys in a specific order and speed to make it work optional, thats a lot about practice, otherwise another action will be done instead of what you want. Like there are people that still use weapon wheel for everything on this game, when that can be replaced with keybidding that make all actions faster.

Even aiming alone is not that easy when you see how many people on this game have trouble getting good with certain weapons, even with hitscan there are players that are shit with the sniper. Sniping isn’t for everyone, it does take some amount of skill, not as much as when using a projectile weapon like the bow sure.

Look I’m just trying to speak from a balance point of view.
Everyones fine with predator melee being useless and the moment theres anything that’s semi a threat (axe) people cry and complain.

So idk what to tell ya.

I got killed by the plasma pistol earlier. I had 100 or 90 health.
I was like fuuuuck but wasnt too bothered by it xD.

That’s what I’m saying tho, like I dont mind pred being dangerous and having good damage.

Me neither, and the half decent FT should mind, premades that it. It’s the ransoms that mind and those that have to carry. Its always apples and oranges with this game; it depends on context

Theres no shooter moment that rivals that moment.

That’s actual skill right there.

Looking at a target, and killing it by pretty much just looking at it, isnt a huge display of skill.

That’s fair for the most part.

But for balancing it should be focused on higher play.
At least in this game.
