remove predator sounds.

As legendary as those predators sounds are, they don’t work on this game. Remove everything, vision change, cloacking and rattlesound. They just messes predators own gameplay so its impossible to surprise any good PC player with headsets, you just get mouse click spotted.

I think the sounds should only happen in Thermal vision.

I’ve heard a few good ideas about this. My favorites are:

Remove the sound of movement in the trees with the exception of landing after jumping to another tree.

Greatly lessen the sound of climbing up into a tree.

Quiet the ambient clicking and growls of the Predator, cause them to “echo” slightly, making pinpointing the sound much harder.

Yeah, spotting needs changed. I think the direct spot should go completely with the exception of a downed player. Downed players need a way of getting help, so if they’re downed they can direct spot. Otherwise it’s just the eyeball marker.

But they also need to address players who turn their graphics way down. Maybe giving a boost to cloak the further you turn down the foliage. Idk.

I played a game earlier against a really, really smart Predator. Man he was great. Never got greedy, flanked, relocated, only went for a quick 1 or 2 melee hits before leaping away to hit with arrows and caster. But no matter how good he was, we punished him. Spotted him over and over. I just sat back and sniped him with the bolt action. Took his mask. Popped him over and over. He did a really great job avoiding being seen, and there were definitely moments I had trouble finding him, but the game just isn’t in his favor. I played overwatch while the team completed objectives. The sounds made it easy to locate him. I’d just look in the general direction and when he showed up, I spotted and sniped. He flanked me at one point but I was running Scout with double time, just ran away. Couldn’t get me.

Sounds exactly how each predator matches ends for me. Often got spotted so much that rest of match just trying to snipe caster 150+meters, and still got spotted but that’s not Bad at that distance
And it’s not very fun to play.

You quit because you were spotted… come on dude sack up and go after them. It’s part of the game. They want the predator to be aggressive

Spotting stays. However , the green highlighted icon when you literally spot right on the predator needs to go. Also I agree with the clicking…to an extent . It needs to stay somehow because its iconic and… its predator. He literally always does that shit like a purring kitten. It just needs to be not as loud or at least not when you cloak up . That drives me crazy. Lastly, the loud ass lurch footsteps of him. Man … it ruins the fear. I can hear where ever he is in my headset ( on pc) and then just spot him … too easy.

The footstep audio is ridiculous for sure

Spotting while cloaked, thermal vision taking up energy, and thermal vision making an audible sound to the Fireteam are really stupid. Movement sounds also need to be quieter.

For a moment there I thought you were talking about the game Overwatch and was about to say that you’re a god for being able to play both of those games at once.

make most sounds less directional and reverb so they cant be pinpoint,
I think cloak/uncloak and footsteps are good to be directional.

remove spotting of totally still/invisible pred.

stealth is now viable!

use audio decoys to help with stealth become more useful

Lol, yeah I play Genji using my feet.

I was wrong about this, no need to remove sounds. I was thinking why predator makes those sounds and fireteam acted just like predator wanted, halted. I should have shot plasma caster or arrow for still soldier and leap away.

But there could be option to turn on random rattling on and off, to use when player wants them.

Those clicking sounds are just retarded. Ask any hunter if he goes about trowing loud farts when hunting deer. The while point of hunting and stealth ia to be quiet, and all those audio cues that sound like a nuke went off does not help.

You litterally can never surprise a FT they always know when you’re in the area because of the clicking noise or when you try ro cloack, use thermal, etc. I understand the clicking is in the movies but wtf does he do it all the time? No. It should be a last man standing type of thing to creep out the last survivor.

Nothing wrong with those movie accurate (for the first time ever in a game!) sounds - spotting is the problem. That needs to be removed from the game

Eh I dig the sounds. I love playing as FT and hearing the sounds of the Predator in the trees. Just an eerie vibe.

I do think footsteps should be DRASTICALLY reduced and the clicking, thermal vision and cloak should all be slightly less directional. Altho tune it too much and the audio decoys become useless.

Walking sound could be reduced.

I deff think running through the trees should be silent.

Good points made here. In my opinion, we need:

-reduced footsteps noise in all situations
-remove FT ability to hear the thermal vision activate/deactivate (pointless, inaccurate, unrealistic)
-greatly reduce clicking and growling when cloaked

Spotting is ok I guess. Could be worth testing without the “tracking” option, but it should stay as it is for downed FT members.

spotting should be used for alerting the FT where there is Meds, Ammo, Currency and Enemy AI.
the enemy AI is so pathetically incompetent why are they even shown on the map/mini map. only way to see them is by a player spotting.

there is a compass of degrees above the FT’s hud, using spot only marks the degree of angle where the predator is not pinpoint it. FT shouldnt be surpassing Mac “out there, pass dem trees”.

Exactly!..this just some quitters noobs that they don’t know how to play properly lol

I’m pretty sure the thermal vision does make a noise though. In the first film(I think) there’s a scene where we see the Predator, from the teams POV and his vision mode is audible. We know he activated it because we could see his lenses on his bio mask activate.
