So, 338 comments is a mountain. Where are we at with this slam spam debate? I was just in a match against a Scout Predator that slam spammed, but he was leaping away the moment he hit the ground so I’m guessing this is the exploit I’ve heard about?? It was literally all he did, he never attacked with anything but slams and seemed to be able avoid the crouching animation?

Hunkering down in a building is the equivalent of forfeiting the match so get DUNKED ON nerds id plasma you but im not even playing scout & ya barely worth my time
The animation cancel is what’s actually being debated as an exploit. Looks exploity to me. Removes the root which just makes it a better alternative to everything.

I will Space Jam pretty much any FT that let’s me get away with it or does not punish me enough for using it.
Edit: Thought I would add that I do this out in the open much more often than on the roof. You just have to be more careful, unexpected, and sneaky about it.
That animation cancel on the slam is absolutely an exploit, because if you don’t touch anything he does the animation. If you button mash, you glitch out of it. Now AOE through walls is yet to be determined…
Yeah I play mostly Predator but cannot predict his every move with pinpoint precision. Obviously I am just trash for not being psychic. No. I have been able to do that plenty with Predators. And I am not going to chase boars into the sunset nor shoot them and give him even easier heals. Nor am I going to go around and memorize every boar spot since there are a fair number that spawn in between outposts with of line of sight for an easy leap away and heal. I know where a good number are but given Predators that are good like to run ground game flanking on the outpost they will startle boars and I’m not gonna chase after them while he is repositioning, my focus will be on him. And once more the smears begin anew. Because that is all you have.
And once more you are just massively misrepresenting what is even being discussed so I have question if you are even aware of the topic. Topic is not Fireteams should be allowed to cuddle puddle without AOE. The topic is not Fireteams should not be punished for standing still. The topic is not that Fireteams should be immune to slams. The topic is that hitting through walls is fucking stupid and it’s a bullshit mechanic whatever your reason is. You see one guy in a building and think your only recourse is to slam because that is impossible to contend with, I see a quick and easy down and claim where that building makes it harder for his buddies outside to punish me for it.
But once we get cross play fixed, fo sho!

I learned very quickly in this game that staying in a building is not beneficial to my overall health, so unless I’m stuck guarding a stupid objective that cancels the countdown if you move an inch away from it then I’m away from low roofs.
I was watching this player, and it was like he was ricocheted the instant he landed. No crouching, just “ping!” gone and back with another slam again before the bright light effect had gone.
