Save your money Don’t buy Viking

-Viking Axe: this axe has two features heavy attack and light attack which are both inconsistent(I will explain) the heavy swing is an overhead slash that has a ridiculously small hit box. You wont be hitting anything unless the target is stationary. The light attack is a Wide Horizontal swing. The only issue being you don’t have any lunge For both attacks. A player can easily avoid your axe swings. -

Also the attacks have a long start up animation(s) before the initial hits. You’ll most likely miss your attacks because of this flaw.

-Viking Class: Is a slower much more lumbering berserker. If you truly want to play as Viking just play Zerker. He’s not worth $5

They should buff Viking and make Axe lime Combi stick with which you can throw from range and then pick it up. @OldKingHamlet @Courier pls send this idea to devs 🙏🏻

No. That’s not going to fix the axe.

Significantly changing weapon functionality is a smidge more complex than that (It would touch like nearly every team, from animation to QA), but I’m not a designer and I don’t get the final say. While nothing is off the table, it would be sooner that we tune it than change it. It is a slow-animation melee weapon that can be absolutely punishing to the FT.

ONLY if they’re either stood still like an idiot or have their back turned, otherwise they just either sidestep or walk backwards out of its range dumping their potential 40% damage buffed 2XL into you…when’s Predator going to get a 4th perk slot, with a perk that reduces damage by 40% to “balance” this “specialist” addition. It’s just a 4th perk option for FT, no matter what you call it. And yet Pred is still stuck with 3, which should’ve been 4 from the start to balance but what do I know, I only play the game.

But a Viking is Brute, Strong and uses Heavy Weapons.
It is not very fast.
It is a more suitable Predator to Attack from the Ground. In Melee Attacks.
So much so that when Attacking with the Ax, the Bodies are launched to Far, and if the Attack comes from above, it is practically enough to Kill an FT member or an AI soldier.

I used to play a lot of World of Tanks, so doing a bit of leading with my attacks is completely natural. Maybe that’s why I’m having a fun time with the axe. But as far as balance, tuning, specializations, etc, we will keep testing with QA as well as watching play results and try to make the best decisions from there.

88 damage with Fearless Perk, you ain’t killing any FT with one swing unless they’re already half dead.

No offense but you really can’t lead with this axe considering you’re stuck in place when you swing. If a FT slowly moves backwards they’ll easily dodge the light attack, if they move side ways they’ll easily dodge the heavy

Viking has more perk slots.

Personally I think the Viking is too much better than berserker. 12 perk point slots is huge advantage. The Viking with elder sword and adrenaline boost is a meat grinder and with medic and either fearless or large pouch, you can easily overwhelm the fireteam.

That being said, predators in general are a little too easy to defeat right now when playing in coordinated squads.

One thing “the team” might want to consider:

  • add a separate queue for players under level 25

I haven’t personally tried it but it sounds like it’s very powerful when combined with the bear traps

You can lead your target when they are moving. Its like the bow… You gotta get set it up a bit, but it works.

Indeed. traps and slam are your friend.

It’s a melee weapon but the variation you have in playstyle when you can both throw or use melee attack is far better than spamming one heavy attack that wont hit the fireteam member unless he is trolling. Like you were doing yesterday on stream, you could have killed the Predator in 3 minutes but you decided to troll on purpose to not show how broken the fireteam is in that game. AroniMacaroni when he was playing Clash he was showing a good skill, good aim and reflex. Then during the game he wasn’t shooting at the Predator, when he had the cross air in his body, on purpose. Also even if you did troll, you managed to win easly against the Viking Predator. In my opinion it’s time to listen more to your community on the forum. This Viking wasnt a good class, and the Viking Axe is worse than the War Club, and of course is not funny because you wont hit any one with this heavy attack without escaping in second wind.

All the PCDS premades have left. They are “balancing” for the random ps4 crowd. I think they’re hoping that a few hard-core pro pred players stick around to keep the flock entertained. Who knows…

They are balancing the wrong way even for randoms ps4 man. Their problem is spotting and hearing the Predator. Buffing damage is useless for them. Also these specializations are only good for premades. They haven’t done a good job for randoms. They have broken the game even more for intermediate and high level. Also get rid of your hard core player base is not a good move because if you lose the players that play your game daily how long will you last with people that play the game once in a while and only Predator?

Does the heavy swing attack include a jump?
From the video above, i can see this jump feature can attack a FT member on the run from you easily.
Maybe not?

nvrm…someone answered. Still feel very strongly that Battle Axe should have a throw like the combistick but spinning and have a wide range when thrown than the combi-stick does…and also a longer wait to pick up the axe when thrown…

Dude, I agree with you. I’m just saying what I think based on my observations. I mean, the devs have really coded themselves into a corner here. I honestly don’t see how they are going to make the casuals and the competitive players feel good. The majority of casual players aren’t on coms… They kinda designed the game from the start to be played that way, and it’s obvious that without coms FT get smoked. Now they’ve tried to make random derps feel viable without depending on coordination and teamwork, so we are where we are now. Teams on coms RAPE nearly 100% of the time with all the buffs the FT has gotten.

Maybe what they could do is find a way to have the game know if the FT is using Coms or at least is a premade and handicap their passive damage output based on how many are in the group? I dunno man. I don’t envy their designers one bit about this. Hard times.

Throw would be cool.
