I would not worry about Germany starting a war - If anything, with its peacfull aproch and strong leadreship in EU Germany would be the froce preventing a war. There is this little dude in Poland called Kaczynski - a small russophobe who is officialy not in goverment. Does he have any power? Yes - Prime minister and President report directly to him. If anythig, it will be Poland that will start riots with Russia and that will lead to a full on NATO vs Russian Federation/China conflict. 3 more years, and we may put that threat to rest…

The funny thing is, that history is just a repetition of what others already have done before…

It is a mistake to believe that human kind is learning anything (out of history). The same just is done over and over again - just by renaming things.

One can easily trace back human behaviour to pack behaviour of animals (btw that’s why there always just is ‘black and white’ - it is always “my pack” and “the others”:). We just descended from the trees some years ago (and some even didn’t…).

The good news: at the moment, Germanys army might not be able to start ANY war… :))

The bad news: the underlying mentality did not change, just the means have changed. Germany now conquers Europe with bureaucracy.

I do understand quite well why the UK left the EU. They have my sympathy. But it might be the beginning of the end of the EU - somehow.

At the moment you are right, Germany is somehow harmless; but so was it in the “Weimarer Republik” - nobody then believed that this small guy from Austria, with this ridiculous black moustache, would be able to take over the power with some talking about blondes with blue eyes.

If you want to know what german humour is - this story is a real german joke. Someone with brown eyes took the lead of people adoring blue eyes and nobody noticed that :)
