Yup. That’s what I was thinking.
Like 50 ideas can fail, but we need just one to werk and it will make a huge impact.
But even starting with rubber bullets. I’ve never been hit by one but I’m sure it hurts like hell and will stop the perpetrator in his/her tracks. If they have a weapon they might pull trigger on reflex, which could be bad, but i still think it should be done. With the normal gun, there might be some hesitation, fear that a cop is going though. With rubber bullets, the stopping power should be there, many rounds can be fired and it should be non-lethal. Tho the pain threshold does mattern. Perhaps if the level of pain is big enough, that could potentially lead to some state of shock and death. But it should still be safer.

All cops first reaction is to reach for there guns.
I remember when I was first started driving. 17 first car. First night out after 9pm.
Got pulled over doing 90 or some shit. Was demand to step out the car. And the first Thing I feel against my back isn’t a hand of handcuffs but the unforgettable feeling of A gun pressed to my back.
And im white. So my privilege saved me from just catching a round after stepping out. So I understand how a P.O.C feels sorta I guess

Yeah. But a coo should be willing to lay down there life. Because that Perp now instead of just one charge they getting a Even worse charge.
Also in this day and age of technology and medical sciences getting shot isnt even a death sentence anymore.
Sure if you catch one to the dome or to the heart but thats what helmets and bulletproof vest are for

I get it. But cops are scared too. They don’t know what will happen or how someone will react. It’s a nervous moment on both sides.

Its scarry to live like that every day of your life. You have to feel safe and in control as much as you can. If you’re sacred, you might get even more trigger happy.

Okay. Cops are allowed to be scared. I cant Take that away from them. But if they have a fear of dying they should not be cops.

Granted. And many cops are rarely in those situations. And i think a normal level headed person would be afraid of dying. If you get people who aren’t afraid, i think they won’t pass a psych profile. They’ll be more of a danger to everybody, including their partners.
Okay. So that means a man in handcuff should be kneeled on instead of just left in the cop car to be crazy and let his words fly.
No. The Floyd issue isn’t even the focus of the BLM tho. Sure his death caused riots which lets not forget white ppl decided to loot more than people of color.
What about Eric Gardener who was choked to death for selling cigarettes on the side of the street.
Like common sense would have told the cop that killed eric that a 609 lb man arms will not go around his back with just a single handcuff.
Or what about the EmT that was shot in her bed because ignorant cops cant read a warrant or a house number.

Yes you should be afraid of death. Yes you should be ready to protect your life.
But if your flight or fight response kicks in at the strt if a traffic stop ur not in a state to make logical actions
