Should Net Gun be a gear item?

Aren’t there two types of net guns though?
Maybe leave the one we have as is and make a new one for gear item?
I’m talking about the wrist net gun Celtic had. Or I think he had? Lol
It could have shorter range, faster to shoot but easier to break free from?

Personally, yes; but then that’ll make Bear Trap trash tier unless it gets the buffs it needs to actually be viable (No cloak like mirage or hum that just tells you where it is.)

I dont care about the lore or movies when it comes to balancing much, its a game that needs optimization. I think the net should be a gear item like the bear traps.

Especially because it will allow for a true city hunter build, but mostly to lower the net count but increase its effectiveness. Make it do more damage over time but you can’t carry as many without the perk, which would allow current default ammo… er something.

Bear traps are already top tier. It fuckin holds a dude in place as soon as it lands, you can (still) trap reinforcements, and most of all they gotta look straight down to free themselves. Can’t get help from team nor can you evade the predators attacks like the net gun allows.

All this would do is force players to choose one or the other, or in some classes maybe you can ditch the healing kit to go full survivor mode lol

Just shoot at it. Boom. Mostly the same reason Smart-Disc was nearly trash tier before the recent buffs.

I consider them decent but intel via Motion Tracker or even throwing them off with Vocal Mimicry is better than a fragile Bear Trap that gives itself away. Works for Berserkers and Vikings because they can tank the damage taken by capitalizing on a successful ensnare while going Melee on em.

I try running them in a Tactician City Hunter, but FT taking heavy shots at me throwing down Bear Traps in preparation often forces me to reposition, wasting Bear Traps since they avoid/shoot at it, and time since I could have been doing something more productive in attacking them like going back to Plasma.

You gotta be extra ballsy or extra sneaky with bear traps.

I’ve had the most success dropping 3-4 at once while ft is actively attacking/spotting me. You’d be surprised how quickly their attention span drops when you’re in their sights lol. Easy team kills are usually accompanied by bear traps. Again, lets not forget you can still trap the radio too.

The Net Gun, is not a weapon.
I will post a feedback on that too.
About the difference between equipment and weapons.
Because, for example, we have a “Weapon” for Soldiers that was added in Dante Jefferson’s DLC, which does no damage!
How does a weapon do no Damage?
It’s the PDL.
These days I was debating with other Members of the Forum, that for the City Hunter to be more Complete, He only needed to be using a Net Gun as well.
And the Smart Disk, would also need to have a “City Hunter” variant. Just like the Combistick.
But in general, the Net Gun should be a device.
Even more that we have Few options of Equipment for Predators.

It’s annoying when I’m playing with City Hunter but I can’t have all of his gear from movie (combistick, smart disck and net gun). I always have to leave one weapon. I think at least City Hunter should be able to bring 3rd weapon like in movie.

Uh, I main predator. This is to help the predator. Fireteam would have a much harder time with netgun as a gear item.

For that matter as fireteam, when you’re netted all you gotta do is strafe in a circular motion. The predators melee tracking will make them miss most swings.

I’m guessing you’re one of those preds that can’t get wins without them though, right?
