In this video, I hunt 3 fireteams on three different maps. They all get wiped. I don’t use any slams. Also, you can see that there are too many hogs available for unlimited health, if I would have needed it.
Slam is a crutch
Turn on your crossplay
Slam a pc fireteam see what happens
I am of the opinion, that just by the very fact that slam is a thing, that many nonsensical strategies the FT could employ are not even attempted.
And that FT who know of and respect the slam are not going to allow themselves to be slammed easily.
I tried that this past weekend and still only got ps4 teams. I’ll try to get pc squad eventually. Unfortunately, there are too many ways for them to exploit the game and they are too small of a fraction of the player base for me to care to always have crossplay on.
In the end, it doesn’t matter. The game should be balanced for the players that can’t exploit graphics, macros, and possibly hacks. PS4 players don’t need PC players, but PC players need PS4 players.
Pc players dont hack this game especially vs ps4 players. Aiming is super ez… i nail preds mid are sniping with 50 cal sniper. Although its easier to use heavy hitter on combi whores. Hammerhead and mag pistol nasty combo
Lol the PC players aren’t hacking the game is just easier to aim with a mouse.
The actual problem here is that 90% of PS4 fireteams are the same ones calling LEAPING op. Cant hit a sprinting predator, can’t 180 fast enough, can’t hit a pred that just bunnyhops around with a netgun. The only time the players in the vid above are even able to hit you is when you’re standing still infront of them aiming. This is why parrying is so important, because ps4 players cant get any damage that matters on the pred unless its stunned or just standing in their line of sight long enough for them to struggle to aim at it before it jumps away.
There’s no form of aim smoothing for the controller its just a jank experience and everyone overshoots or undershoots and if you just run circles around them with wristblades they can literally never hit you tell me im wrong.
Leaping vs ps4 players means you’re home free.
Leaping vs pc players means they take a quarter of your health because they can actually track a moving target or spin around without motion blurring themselves blind.
The only way you can balance pred for ps4 is to slow all the pred classes down by 50% or make aiming a better FPS experience with controller. PS4 players cannot put out enough damage on a pred to down him at a distance even if its a scout so of course healing is OP if you cant hit the pred as soon as he hits the leap button. The only reason ps4 FTs still win is because parry stun allows them to kill all these shitty zerks standing in their face stunned. Which is why its cool to bitch about big scary scout with its big scary bow now.
Rly dude I have to provide you with “evidence” of pc players that can aim? Just leave your crossplay on even if you think they’re hacking or whatever
To be fair, yes I was foolish to even try this slam.
It was late, it was EXFIL, and second wind was up so you know, yolo!
Or twice I guess with second wind…
Also, you will have to please just trust me that the other two were also on PC.
That is about 500-600 damage dealt to me just during the “after slam animation”, and I am still taking hits as I leap away.
@Finessology
Yes. You do. Also, I’ve been watching some YouTube PC players playing fireteam and their aiming seems smoother, but they definitely miss a lot once the predator starts moving.
Without evidence, you’re words mean nothing.
@Draedark
First, you only blinded one person. The the other 3 soldiers were too far away, but close enough to unload on you.
Also, once you leave the ground you take very little damage. Even ps4 can easily get a few hits while you’re airborne.
What I would like to see is amazing aim from a fireteam’s perspective on PC.
True, but only one person was blinded because two were already spread out instead of standing too close together. The third moved away so as not to be blinded.
This is probably why I took 50% damage, instead of the proposed 25%.
I said it was a bad slam.
1 out of 3 games actually have an abundance of boars. The first game had two at most. I don’t even think I saw any in the second game. If you really think there’s too many of them, then upload videos that show the maps being full of boars. Most of my games have one or two spawn in at a time and are usually far from the FT.
Boar spawns are so inconsistent that sometimes you’ll get one or two for the entire game and sometimes you’ll get six of them. They also require you to leave the fight, which will let FTs work on the objectives. Most of the time they spawn a good distance away from the FT.
It is in stark contrast to a match I had just tonight, where the FT hid in a shack because I was shooting at them with the pistol.
It looked like one hid under the stairs, so they received a warning slam. After that I jumped on the roof and verified they were all inside and asked them if they were going to come out or not.
After no answer, they responded by popping smoke and trying to heal while staying inside.
So I slammed twice then walked inside to collect my happy meal.
After the match they asked me what I had killed them with. So I explained about the slam and that hiding inside was generally not a solid plan. They thanked me and moved on. Hopefully the wiser.
I guess the moral of my story here is that, as I have said many times before, slam will probably get nerfed at some point because it has to be about as much fun for an inexperienced FT as the old “zerker combi rush” was. It is probably less fun because an inexperienced FT may not even understand what is happening.
Not because it is OP or an exploit or a crutch.
The balance team at Illphonic will basically have to decide if players should learn by losing a match or two due to their own mistakes, or not.
You guys realise that events take place whether or not someone has a video of it. Take it from someone who played in competitive PC leagues a few years ago that the pred would be far easier to hit and follow on PC.
As FT I’ve played rounds where I’ve ran past at least 6 boars. Also had rounds as pred where I can’t find one. It happened regardless of whether or not I saved the video.
@Draedark
Gotcha. Most of my issues with slam come from predators using it on freshly revived soldiers and roof slamming. Maybe I would find it balanced if it at least didn’t go through surfaces.
Going through surfaces is needed in my opinion. I think it serves to put a stop to a lot of potential other nonsensical play that would lead to stalemates.
It’s like parry perhaps. Maybe a bit wonky and does not make a huge amount of sense, but there for balance in my opinion.
@SnakeSound222
I agree the boars spawn somewhat inconsistently. But even two in the immediate area is too much free health. IMO, there should be exactly 4 boars every match. One randomly wandering in each corner of the map in their own territory.
Maybe. Though, I hope not, because it’s a huge turnoff for a number of players I’ve chatted with about the game. Very few people want to play a game were you can be killed through walls.
