So who’s gonna be the lucky winner for these?

Ngl I stopped watching Dr Who after they made him a woman😂

Generally speaking I wasn’t interested in the series as much anymore anyway though tbh at the time. I liked all those recent Doctors (David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi) but I was just interested in other stuff at the time & it just didn’t feel right when they decided to make him a woman.

I just remember that special episode when John Hurt was one of the Doctors alongside David Tennant & Matt Smith, and it always reminds me of the original Alien movie where John Hurt played Kane😂

I meaaannnnn…it works with Time Lord lore. You can regenerate into any sex, like with The Master and Missy (I think there was one other regen as well that was male to female), and even the creator of the character said its entirely possible back in the 60s. Like I was down for it, I didn’t subscribe to the uproar at the time, I just felt her stories were badly written (the Timeless Child being a huuuge one, glad they ditched that one), and Jodie was trying too hard to be like other Doctors rather than just being unique. Her last episode though when she regens into Tennant again, that was actually really well written and her goodbye did get to me. I cannot get into current Who though, like its just not the same for me, even with Russel Davis (the showrunner for Eccleston and Tennant’s run) coming back. I haven’t watched a single episode of the new season, and currently don’t plan to.

And yeah, John Hurt as the War Doctor for the 50th anniversary special, I loved that so much. Like I binge watched the show to catch up before it aired so I could be up to date, and was not disappointed. Loved the way they introduced Capaldi too before he took over, literally one line of dialogue and a quick shot of his eyes. Ahhh man, the good ol’ days of Who. I miss it a lot.

I’m not particularly well-versed in Doctor Who lore tbh so I wouldn’t really know about all that

Yeah I think I remember seeing a few moments of her episodes on TV, and it didn’t particularly interest me. It’s not even necessarily because it’s a woman playing Doctor Who lol it’s just the writing & yh I guess the portrayal, because she kinda seemed like she was trying to be similar to previous Doctors from what I remembered, instead of making her own unique spin on it.

It’s a damn shame there aren’t no Ellen Ripleys or Sarah Connors anymore.
