How about when the pred is spotted, a mark appears on his location number on the compass that’s on the upper mid screen, but not on him, and he’s not highlighted?

There you go being hypocritical again Dragnar. All that bitching and moaning about people bitching and moaning. Remember the good-ole days when you were bitching extensively about the Ft’s frailties? How dare anyone else express their frustrations as you did yours. Overshadowing your “i had a dream” moment, are they? Bastard’s for sure, the lot of them.

Personally I think the spotting is fine, BUT the Pred’s cloak needs to hide him better and he needs to be quieter when in the trees.

Visual

  1. Make the cloak more effective in general, and almost completely invisible when crouched/not moving

Sound

  1. Remove the sound of footsteps while in the trees completely (they’re fine on the ground) but keep the sounds of branches creaking when pred lands/pred clicks/etc, however…
  2. Widen the direction of the sound so it gives only a very general idea of location. It’s waaay too specific. Unless…
  3. Unless the source of the sound is within a certain distance of the player, say 20 feet or so? Then keep it specific. The Predator shouldn’t be able to be in the tree literally above the fireteam without risking being spotted.

Function

  1. Predator laser “fades out” as it gets closer to the Predator. Indicating general location without absolutely pinpointing him.
  2. Leaves don’t fall from every tree branch upon jumping/landing. Maybe a 1 in 10 chance of it happening. It’s not autumn in the jungle.
  3. Pred can’t be spotted for 3-5 seconds after being spotted.

I had a thought that the spot could create some kind of visual indication for the Pred. Like a 'red zone" area where he was just highlighted until he exited the area. This would be seriously OP unless the ability was nerfed with a significant cooldown. Should probably be class exclusive as well. But I think it makes sense in terms of how spotting should work. If the soldier points out a specific area, the rest of the team would be aware of movement within that area, but not be able to track an almost invisible object behind tress.

And it is what I mean ☝️☝️☝️agree with you

…and Totally agree with you

Dude NO! It’s not about avoiding being spotted, it’s that the spot function can be spammed continually until the Predator is spotted. People just spam every square inch to find a healing/hiding Predator. That’s absolutely NOT how its supposed to work or be used. Actually it shouldn’t even be there tbh. It’s a cheese mechanic used in a cheese way. Right now you can mash that spot button like a madman without any cooldown until you actually spot the Predator, then there’s a very short cooldown. 🧀

So here we go… again…

  1. You are completely invisible when standing still. So it’s as effective as you are asking it to be.

  2. 500 lbs landing and walking/running/jumping through trees should make sound. The predator is not as light as a feather and will not move around as being one.

  3. NO. This game emphasizes on the use DIRECTIONAL audio. I finally have use for my nice (expensive) headset. This was one of the main selling points of the game and you want to take it out?

  4. Same answer as with point 3. Adding that there is a gear item called audio decoy to throw them off your track.

  5. No. There is a perk called dithered lens for a reason. Light does never fade closer to it’s source, it’s the opposite… Learn how to conceal them, there are lots of people able of it without even using the perk.

  6. Same answer as point 2. Summer, autumn, winter or fall, (I’ll be there whenever you call) does not matter if there is a 500 lbs alien strolling through the bushes and on branches. Stuff will move and stuff will fall.

  7. I’m all for something that kills the spam spotting, as it’s usually dumb FT members that take away my clear shots to the face. A thing some people don’t understand is spotting saves lives. Predator lives that is #alienlivesmatter
If they do put a cooldown on it though, removal of SPOTTED prompt for the predator should be considered. He can already hear them saying “over there!” and will definitely know he’s spotted when the rain of bullets start to come his way.

DISCLAIMER:
(By you I do not mean the OP or the person replied to. By you I mean the people in general who are asking/demanding for buffs/nerfs to whichever side they are playing and playing against to make it easier for them to win without putting in the work, and in the process make the game less enjoyable for the people who actually put in the work and increase their skills in the game, predators and fire team members alike.)

I hate when you set yourself up in a area crouched and cloaked. Letting the first 3 ft members pass so you can get the last member and then you make a fucking sound! Jezus christ cant the predator stfu for a minute.

AUDIO DECOYS… They are in the game for a reason…

I’m well aware of how things work in reality. This is a game and I think some of these changes would help.

Won’t make sense for the spotted to have a cooldown u cant put a cooldown on vision, but what needs to happen 0nce a predator is spotted the ft should not be able to see them outlined through a wall this should only happen when the predator is in line of sight and on the trees

Spotting absolutely needs a cooldown. Spam spotting is hurting the game. You can literally run around and spam spot every bush, branch, corner until you find the Predator. This isn’t how the game should be played. It’s total cheese 🧀 and removes any skill needed to find the Predator. It’s basically being used as a Predator detector. Besides it needing a cooldown, it should also be a perk that takes up a slot. Basic directional spotting is fine, but tracking spotting should be a perk.

I think that’s the fairest way to deal with spotting I’ve read so far

The people who say “don’t get spotted” or “attack from another angle”… are the same people you spot spam when playing FT… Like NO SHIT, ill reroute my attack. But when your the asshole mashing the spot button randomly, HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU STEALTH… I’m a pred main and when cloaked there should not be an outline. Thats a huge handicap for shit players who run and gun…
its funny bc most PC players spot spam. And they think there top their in gaming… ur mouse is on a rotating ball. Takes no effort to aim. If it was attached to a stick, that so called skill would be greatly diminished.
