Suggestion for nerfs regarding fireteam reinforcements and downs

I think Evolve had a good system in place for when the monster had downed one of the hunters. In Evolve, when a hunter was downed and then revived by their teammate, their overall hp was reduced. If the same hunter was downed a second time and then revived by their teammate, their overall hp would be reduced even further. I think this type of system should be implemented in this game as it’s more rewarding to down of the fireteam members, even if he gets revived.

As others have stated previously, if fireteam members are reinforced, they shouldn’t be able to come back with all of their supplies.

Also, in this game there is a stealth kill mechanic which can be used once you have downed a fireteam member three times. I found this mechanic kinda useless at times as the animation is really slow and it gives other fireteam members the opportunity to kill you. I feel like the animation should be faster or it should be replaced with something else. Perhaps you could kill the fireteam member in one shot instead?

They literally should just make the stealth kill for FT a simple thrust in, thrust out… as for reinforcements yes, you can’t have “balance” when you literally can just die and have ALL your stuff back with no penalty to yourself and makes trophy claiming absolutely useless and lackluster for late game players

Exactly, the stealth kill should be fast and feel more rewarding.

Yup, reinforcements needs to get nerfed somehow.

Besides all the things I’ve mentioned, I feel like the game is pretty balanced in every other aspect.

don’t get me started on FT’s delusions of the the Stick being destroyable… the devs really messed up by making the smart disk destroyable in the first place… I get that it’s a game but u gotta respect lore when it comes to Pred weaponry

Oh yeahh, I forgot about that. I don’t think the predator’s weapons should be destructible.

I feel like it’s okay for the motion detectors to be destroyed though.

yea i just don’t agree whatsoever for main weapons… i mean I KNOW they would say HELL NO to us also being able to destroy their precious guns rofl

lol destroying their guns is a bit much but we should be able to destroy their knives. Their knives should break after one parry. They shouldn’t be able to spam parry and win a 1v1 with the predator.

I think a solid balance would be to reduce your returning Gear by 33 or 50%. That way, Fireteams will still have a chance but not an overwhelming one.

Yeah, that sounds fair. They should also come back with a reduced hp bar.

I’m not sure about that and don’t agree.

Sure, it sounds fair to a Predator player. But when you’re in a Fireteam’s Shoes, having reduced Health when a Predator is right on top of you means you’ll be downed immediately with reduced Health.

It’s certainly possible to hide when fully Cloaked right next to a Respawn Radio. I’ve taken out two Players quickly, with full Health, right when they Spawned in. So 50% Health would be a bad Idea

Yeah, make the shoulder canon destructible like the movie instead. Remember that? Harrigan breaking City hunter’s shoulder plasma with bullets?

I think there should be some kind of reduction in their hp bar, at least 10 hp. There should be some kind of cost for being reinforced or getting downed.

In my opinion, reinforcements is pretty much fine.

One thing I would like to see in regards to downs though would be some UI element to help Predator keep track of the number of downs on each FT. I usually end up over killing/killing the wrong FT when trying for stealth kills.

Sometimes it is hard to tell the FT members apart in all the chaos, and the mud doesn’t help either.

I think the current state of reinforcements is fine for noob fireteams but it makes it kinda tougher to beat really good fireteams.

Against a good fireteam, it’s hard enough to get one down on them. There should be some kind of reduction in their hp bar when they’re downed.

Maybe, but a change like this would probably affect the less experienced fire teams much more.

I still think Illphonic should balance for quick play and let the “comp” teams come up with “house rules” to play against each other in private matches.

Yeah, the inexperienced teams are probably gonna get demolished with those changes but atleast the predator will have more of a fighting chance against pro fireteams.

Illfonic needs to add a ranked mode already.

trying to please “comp” teams is not a good idea lol… the hunt is already competitive lol

Right. I do not think balancing towards the high end, which in the current state of the game would be to buff Predator or nerf FT, would be good for the game over all.

I have to hope that Illphonic has the metrics and knows where the curve is, and that they aim for making the game as balanced as possible for the majority.

The real difference in balance is PC vs PS4. PS4 players are sometimes just spectators in matches between PC gods.
