Suggestion: Hunt 2.0

now a bit of context, i was trying to boil down why players feel like their being brunt out with the game too fast, so as i was in a thread talking about how the blance state is and giving my thoughts i ended up with thinking of this for, a way to spice up the game and make Over powered shit seem fair and could make the game more fun. NOW IF YOU READ OVER POWERED AND WERE TURNED OFF I PLED WITH YOU TO READ THE FULL THREAD. and with that my idea.

Predator:

you need to build up points. your points are rewarded too you under the fallowing actions

  • Delaying the fire teams objective for escape.
  • killing/hurting Fire team memebers.
  • killing A.I.'s

you then can use these said points ( once saved enough of them) to cause either insta kills refill heal kits call in drop pods ( witch could be used to swap load outs mid game) or lastly upgrade your weapons. a few exps:

  • upgrading the plasma caster to lock on or you can choose to one shot with it.
  • the spear can only be thrown and now has a cool down to being thrown but can insta-kill.

things of that nature.

Fire team:

same idea a point based system.

only what they would get is this types of things.

  • calling in a drone too bomb an area.
  • calling in reinforcements
  • be a gunner in an attack heli.
  • tag everything in the map for 30 seconds.

now of course each of these things will have higher or lower point pricing depending on how much the impact the game.

the fire team would be rewarded points based on.

  • how fast the do their objectives
  • how many A.I.'s they kill
  • how much Damage they deal to the predators remaining health.

whats your guys thoughts? i honestly feel like i cracked a code or something with this one.

Point system = yes. You could also implement stealth kills into it, since currently stealth kills are trash.

Concern is the braindead killing of hordes of AI distracting from pvp on both sides. And speed shouldn’t be a factor in how many points you get. Should instead be how well you hold the area, how many seconds AI were on the point w/e. Which would also encourage teams to spread out to defend objectives. Otherwise its objective rush 2.0

thats why their both in it. you can kill all the ai’s in an area slowling your self down or you can rush the objectives either way your taking a risk. and the reason why i added do your objectives quickly as a reward was the predator gets points by the second intell the heli is triggered. that way you even out the scales a bit.

Lmao I responded in the other thread.
Ya these options sounds like too much.
At least for pvp.

Actually, this might not be bad for clash tbh.

well i understand why you would think its too much but im trying to think of a way to allow for things that we wanted since the start but might ruin the game.

such as the lock on plasma caster. i think if it was based on a system that made you earn it each and every single match it might make the option fair enough for it to be in the game… my intent is not to coppy cod. but rather look at what they did right. and think to my self how can i learn from it with out coppying them too hard…

and if your strunggling too see how the two are different

  • cod uses kills for their rewards i use kills objectives or even playing well as a team.

  • cod doesnt let you choose to upgrade your weapons as a reward for in game rewards.

  • lastly cod doesnt have a system in witch your fighting to have more points then the other team for more options of control

Yes I know.
But like I said, I dont think this is good for hunt.
At least I dont want anything that feels like kill streaks.

You asked me, and this is my thoughts on it.
I dont like these ideas at all.
For either side tbh.

Not for Hunt, but I can see stuff like this being fine for clash.
After all clash is just a call of duty mode anyway.

I dont think this would be good for hunt cause it would make it way too easy for either side.
Like I cant even imagine the ft getting some kind of air strike.
Hell I dont even think they should get mines or claymores with the way the game is atm.

As far as adding anything like this into hunt, I feel there would need to be a major rework.

The only other way I can see this not being too bad in a main mode, is if we get a bigger mode, with bigger maps.

Where it’s like a true PVPE.
You play gambit in destiny 2?
A little bit like that.
Where each faction is competing, but, their main goal is a pve objective.

My minds foggy as hell, so I cant really think of much else to add on, but ya, this is my thoughts on it.

alright, @Fire if you were to update hunt to fix the issue of players being brunt out too fast how would you go about it. with Detail i would love to hear from you!

I think hunt will always feel the same. It’s a great mode, but people are burned out on it because that’s all they played for 6 months. Clash is a good mode have a temporary outlet for that, but it has no depth. We need a new mode. It’s kinda soon to call for one just as clash came out so maybe the suggested changes will make the hunt feel new again. Doubt that illfonic will go that route. That’s going backwards and I’m sure they want to move one with new content

Great point. guess we have to wait and see how the game is with the 15 player max gamemode comes out.

better known as gauntlet

There was some superficial talk of what the 3v12 mode can be. I think it has to feel quite different from the hunt. I didn’t find any of the suggestions very convincing, but it’s tough cause hunt is a simple concept but it’s really good in my opinion. Illfonic has their work cut out for them.

Not the most original idea, but honestly just a 2v8, 3v10.

The only other thing I can think of, is what I’ve said before, longer and more complex missions.

I realize some ppl get burnt out and bored of repetition, but this is one of those games where you just keep doing it cause you like it.

Like I said my mind is foggy so I’m real lm y not going to come up with anything all that great, but what about different mission paths?

Basically depending on the events that take place, things change up somewhat or completely.

So like, there would be 3 ways a single objective can turn out or a part of the mission.

Complete success, decent, and all gone to shit.
This can be affected by the pred destroying something, or the objective not done in time, an alarm being set off, ect.

Depending on how that part goes, it affects the next part.
And in some missions you would be able to turn things around, in others it just becomes a complete clusterfuck and becomes something completely different.

I’m having a hard time coming up with specifics, but I feel this would make each mission and match more exciting and different enough to not get boring.

As for what cam be changed on pred side,
Give pred the ability to set more traps and stuff.
Special interactions and what not, that change up depending on how the mission is going.

This could also apply to the ft.
Like if they make it undetected, they can hack security systems and use them to help them.

Like a automated sentry gun.

Pred would definitely need more gear and abilities, and a few more mechanics.

Anyway, a bit more on the complex side, but this is the best I can come up with.

It’s a start. Specifics are tough to come by. There has to be an original element that’s the centerpiece.

i dont agree with making missions longer as thats a nerf too the fire team and a buff too the predator. i feel that both sides are pretty fair as of the moment. more complex missions is all well and good but wouldnt fix the issue it would last a few weeks then players will get burnt out of it and i also disagree with the comment " yea people get burnt out, but if you like the game play it anyways" as thats pretty much saying. " if you like predator but dont like how this game plays. FUCK OFF" witch imo is a bit harsh to suggest…

You misinterpret a lot of what I say now a days.
I’m not saying fuck off to anyone.

I’m stating the truth.
By nature this game is repetitive,
So, only those who love that wont really get burnt out and keep fully diving into it.

I dont really want anyone to fuck off, not yet anyway.
I just thought this would be cool because if each mission had multiple paths, each match will feel different.

I dont see how this would be a nerf for ft tho.
Cause if they do it successfully,
They could get things to turn the match in their favor.

I may not be explaining what I have in mind well, like I said my minds foggy as hell lol.

But ya, this is the best i can come up with to help change things up.

Try not think the worse of what I say lol.
Any ideas and what I mention, are just me saying what I think/ see as fair, and what I think would be cool or fun.

allow me to explain then.

see heres why the whole idea is pointless too me. say it takes the same amount of time to do as the normal one witch is by the sounds of it is what your saying yes? well then the whole problem is still there players would rush the Objectives and invaildate what your saying. say it does makes the game longer then its nerfing the fire team as the predator has more time to eat his way throw the very limited healing items the fire team has.

so if i dig a bit deeper into this, it would lead me to believe that you think both sides are balanced nicely other wise what was the point in saying that you dont see how it would be a nerf? just to hope i would miss it? nah, i know you better then that your much smarter then that. so im betting its the former rather then the ladder. anyways back to the point. either choice wouldnt do much.

even in the prefect world of making it so fun to do missions players would still be burnt out of the same Way of doing tasks like. ok the best way i can show you what i mean. picture me telling you, you have to mow the lawn but your only allowed to use a lawn mower nothing else. but im going to give you lots of placings to mow the lawns! like a city park! my back yard! this forest! a jungle! an island! you would still be bored out of your mind because the way to mowing the lawns hasnt changed. say this next time you can use a riding lawn mower that has AC and 6 speeds with a radio and all that jaz. sundenly mowing the lawn is much more fun. its less about the what your doing and the where your doing, and more about the How your doing it.

Ignoring all the weapon changes for a second, i think this would make for some pretty quiet matches. If I’m the predator, why should I bother trying to track down the FT while they’re already killing AI and starting in the objective? It would be smarter to leap around to all the bases and killing the AI for points of my own while the FT do their objectives unchallenged, leading to a shitshow at the exfil point.
