Asperger’s started being used in the 90’s & stopped being used 10 years ago.
“Therapist” is an allied health term, not a profession.
A psychologist, psychiatrist, and psychotherapist are all different things.

Gladly. Last time I was in america, I fucked a billionaire’s wife and then slaughtered 3 cops and 5 armed assailants at various intervals throughout my stay. I went on my mandatory trip across north america and punched a charging ox. I also went to australia and choked a crocodile to death, killed a bunch of black people with machetes and two white ones with rifles. Some of my exploits back home include the murder of no less than 3 serial killers, 7 rapists (4 of which were serial) and 1 or 2 war veterans - from the afghan war, mind you, not some wrinkly-ass old guy. I also quite possibly had sex with a dead body, but I was very drunk that night.
So what wrong with saying Asperger’s? Is diagnosis wrotten as ASD, Asperger’s? If it’s a sun category, it still gets specific treatment, no?
Nope. It’s just treated as high functioning autism because that’s what it is.
Everything gets specific treatment, diagnosis is just for billing codes and insurance
I saw Rett syndrome in there. It’s a regression of developmental milestones in girls. Surely the treatment is different than Asperger’s?
Rett Syndrome has its own ICD10 code. I wouldn’t know how its treated since its super rare, probably why they were trying to get rid of it.
It’s apparently genetic though and there is a severe decline, trying to classify it under autism sounds like it was more lobbying than anything.
Yeah Rett’s been removed from the spectrum because its a genetic mutation with its own characteristics & decline.
Asperger’s is high functioning autism. Kanner’s syndrome isn’t recognized for the same reason aspergers isn’t (kanner’s is severe, low functioning autism iirc) and the other 2 are essentially just developmental delay which is way too general & in the middle of either.
Some recategorization in the DSM is to remove redundancies like that but a lot of it has to do with lobbyists and insurance.
Loosened criteria = money. So throwing everything under an umbrella works out for them, then you get outliers like Rett’s that shouldn’t be there to begin with.

Possible. The way they portrayed the kid as autistic was pretty shit as well , its like they tried to stereotype what they thought autism was.
