TARGET ISOLATION NEEDS GONE ASAP

what we have now for alot of the mechanics lead one to think what they really could have been, as much as i enjoy the game. here is hoping in the future they add more and not just maps and colour variants.

I agree that target isolation needs to go.

I’m not a developer nor a pro gamer but I think if you remove target isolation and increase the size of the audio queues (weapons fire and alarms) this will force the fire team into actually trying to play more stealthily.

OR

Target Isolation is reserved for boars.

Brilliant idea yes this would be top notch.

Oh I so like this, I have always thought the Preds need some kind of method to find out what the FT are carrying, It would so help with their engagements.

I like the sound of a increased intensity to heat vision at the cost of a chunk of energy or maybe the preds eyes light up brighter due to the intensity?

Yeah for what their masks are worth, I am sure they would have a zoom function…

medpacks register heat? If so, how about a recently used item gives off heat emission and slowly cools?

Yeah thanks man, all those suggestions I think would improve preds gameplay

@DeadEyeBuddha Hey you may want to swap the title of your thread to something like “potential Target isolation reworks” might help people get more involved in what they would like to see from the preds vision

The problem with all these ideas, is you remove any hope of stealth from the fireteam. By letting the predator know where the mission is, the hunt is gone, because he can camp and trap the area. If you give them a vision that ignores mud, you no longer allow the FT to hide. No one is going to use vocal sounds. And heart beat when they need to find someone nearby. Thermal flare option removes a gear from use. A zoom would be fine.

This is my overall issue with removing the isolation scan. Anything you do to balance it out will only make it harder for the fireteam to do anything but rush. I’ve had predators walk right by me because I mudded up. That is how simple the scan is to defeat.

ya the fireteam pickups register as heat. basically thermal vision is really “interactable items vision” which is kinda dumb. i would have liked a seperate vision mode for that kind of thing.

I wish that the tree pathing and all that would have been an overlay that you could enable as well with its own cool sound or something. so instead of a clumsy hinted game mechanic it actually makes it look like a predator mask feature. You do have to wonder they were doing when we can spitball these in 10 minutes. comes down to time and budget i suppose.

they really stripped the lore out of the game, tis sad

big oof when claws do more dmg to a pig than the stick, which is both the last weapon you unlock AND among the most powerful weapons given to a Predator by his Elders

sure they are just ideas which could be ironed out. and admittedly i thought about it primarily as a predator and what would be cool gameplay wise. they would need an FT counterbalance.

The odds of the predator finding the fireteam need to be tilted in his favor though which ever mechanic is employed. I mean that for the point of the game to take place.

for electronic gear it could be only some gear which is equipped. it could be that you have an extra slot for masks for different vision modes. they could be cooldown limited.

Fireteam use vocal sounds automatically when they do anything so instead of just their shooting bubbles you can have speech detection if they are laying down medkits or ammo which get you looking in a certain direction but you would have to actively be running it. thermal flare i mean as in you amplify the thermal signatures to a degree that they are visible from further.

As mentioned though, there isnt really a stealthy alternative as FT so as soon as they engage at a camp you just have to head there. If they could stealth the whole mission then extra detection methods would be cool.

i would also love to be able to tag FT manually so I can determine my own priority prey.

they really need to be careful when trying to give the fire team more ways to stealth. You can easily stealth for the whole game spamming mud and the CD of isolation does leave big gaps. Putting the Fire Team on equal grounds as the Predator is a huge mistake especially stealth wise, basically making a meta-human that’s extremely stealthy and can talk way less in stealth

Yeah I can understand that having an ability to increase thermals could negate being mudded up then as a drawback maybe their vision is unmissable for those who are not unaware? Is there something you think that could be a worthy drawback? Also if someone is muddied up and still running the cold blooded then either keep them the same or only marginally more visible?

As for Fireteam rushing, maybe give an incentive for stealth play as being special forces they should be able to dispatch an outpost without “going loud” maybe increased xp for that objective or maybe prevent Ai reinforcements for those hold the area objectives, as a FT main I would do anything to prevent that.

a weapon identification mode would be good to implement

they really just need to add more incentives to play stealthily and not just run and gun.

ya agree pred should have tools which inevitably find the fireteam which require more gameplay but do not allow him to be constantly on them without doing anything.

Yeah, I think having the pathing as a overlay would be nice, sometimes you know where you are going and you dont need big red lines to tell you haha and yeah Illfonic arent a massive developer but I think they have done alright for the size that they are, I have only heard of F13 as a game they have made bar this so…

they really need to give the Predator other objectives to complete as well, I main predator and it’s just getting boring only going after FT all the time especially with how little currency we get even with a 13k+ win

yes in the end im happy it exists at all.

they have a ton of bugs/glitches/anti-macro/and optimization issues to sort out, it’s gonna take em a while tbh
