The Axe... and why people hate it.

Axe tracking takes mr. black up a helicopter

Here is an example of how using the Axe goes in practice vs a pc premade:

Is the dmg high and can you down a ft fast if the tracking gets him ? Sure but the fireteam dmg is even higher when you actually have multiple people shooting at you, 1 ft can take over half of your hp in few seconds if you miss the Axe hit vs him, how about 4 of them ? If you dont have something like the bow or disk to kill downed fireteams, you are forced to quickclaim them to secure a kill and sacrifice your second wind, after that your option is to try to get the other 3 down around the same time which is not that simple cus time it takes to do the number of Axe attacks necessary to down 3 ft > time it takes for 3 fts to make your hp go from 100 to 0. Which is why I also relied on traps and netgun.

Its a risky and suicidal way of playing as Predator. I mean its not a bad weapon its fine now but its not the most effective way to play neither the one that takes the most skill.

I don’t have that problem because I play on PC and I can have hard binds for interact and jump

Yuh

there’s no argument that the axe is not effective against pc premades. almost nothing is effective against pc premades. the argument, which is “why people hate the axe” is because there’s a lot of people out there that DON’T PLAY ON PREMADES. And the axe basically means that no matter how skilled you are as FT, you can’t Rambo it anymore (you even said that yourself). So you are going to lose almost every time you face a 5 year old wielding the axe unless you are playing with at least somebody that has half a brain and assists you.

Like you said, it doesn’t require much skill.

Granted, asymmetric games shouldn’t be balanced for 1v1, but that’s not stopping anyone from hating 1 hit kill weapons.

Its not possible to rambo all preds with Axe, a good amount of them its possible depending on how good the ft player is and how he plays, using the randoms as bait still works well. If the Axe pred decides to target you first and ignore the 3 randoms cus he recognizes your name, sure you are probably screwed.

This is how I die to most axe users. Not so much probably by name, but how I play, as I’m usually the first to spot and engage the Pred so automatically they target me, and my jumps don’t exit the hit box most of the time so its whack city. What sucks is you usually never know they’re using the axe until you’re hit by it (you can usually predict it, like if they’re using Black or Viking/Zerk/Valk). But admittedly it IS fun when they attack the potatoes first and then you light them up.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me that we are finally discussing about something that concretely threatens the FT, at least in certain situations.

That can only be a good thing, given the many complaints about the game’s balance.

This guy has killed me before. He’s such a potato too. He likes to target me and go all out even risking second wind to make sure I die. A Viking axe player targeting you from start with muppets for teammates can be hard to overcome.

Stupid Viking was stupid.

Question, what’s your sensitivity at? I notice you’re landing a lot of your pistol shots without moving much, same with sniping, do you have it high and just have VERY good stick control? Or is it at default or lower? I’m trying to find the sweet spot for myself, but I keep missing a lot of shots because I keep my sensitivity up.

😮

which is what happens 99% of the time, lol

That’s what i already said multiple times.
The Axe is a fair weapon against a coordinated team. But against potato randoms it’s an OP weapon.

If they know your gamertag they will go balls out to down you.

2 for the first two and 1.2 for the ads

It’s also action hero.
For assault sometimes I do double action hero

even if they don’t

they see you are on pc, you are screwed

they notice you are the only one firing at it, you are screwed

best thing you can try and do is hide, but then one of the potatoes decides to go to you, unmudded… is like… fuck… there’s no winning with them, they either ignore you when you need them or follow you and give away your position when you don’t need them to

at least bots mudup when you do and fire when a pred is doing melee

Potato randoms are the downfall of solo matches.
