And boy, you really do have to look hard and pay attention. From a FT perspective it’s harder now to track the Predator, especially when they’re using the trees. The shimmer is barely noticeable until you’re close to the Predator, and it’s awesome. This is how it should be, just like the movies!!

Couldn’t agree more. This can totally change my style. I don’t have to stay in constant leap to avoid getting melted because I’m always visible. I can take my time to reposition without being seen.
I… I actually think they might have overdone it. I need more experience to really say but so far it seems like pred at full sprint is barely giving that shimmer, and I think that might have been too far. Im not sure yet. But still

I was rushed by a cloaked Predator last night, and I didn’t see the shimmer until they were about 50mtrs away. Scared the shit out of me, and I loved it😏 trust me, it’s where it deserves to be right now.

Dont get me wrong, Im glad they finally did something about the cloak. But I think that with it being so overdone, its gonna cause a lot of issues.
Preddy health, FT ammo capacity, all of these sorts of things have been balanced around the cloak being shit for so long. My point being, its possible once people start playing hunt again we are gonna see crying for pred nerfs across the forums and it wont be entirely unwarranted.
Fireteam have had their way for too long now, and have been OP forever. It’s time they learned what fear and helplessness feels like, it’s time they got a taste of desperation and realise they can’t just endlessly spray bullets. They either adapt, or their skulls become trophies. Just like the movies😈

There’s always going to be threads begging for Predator to be nerfed, some people just don’t know how to take an L.
But Predator actually feels like Predator now, the suspense is back, the anticipation is back, the frantic searching the trees and rooftops is back, and it feels great!! And it gives me confidence now playing as Predator that I’m not going to be seen jumping through trees half a map away, and might actually be able to play cat n mouse with these sweaty FTs.
Us pred mains had to adapt to the bane buff and all the other ft toys, so ft can learn and adapt to a new cloak.
Lol I mean hey I cant disagree with that. I just feel like this OP bullshit for either side is a bit much. I wish a bit more care was put into balance changes, especially ones like these that really do set the precedent for literally everything else.
Balance is all over the place but atleast its feel good to play both sides now.
I think this one change to the cloak may go a long way in bringing back fear and ambush tactics. That’s exactly what I’ve wanted since the beginning. To ambush as predator and feel fear and tension as FT. Though I recognize I don’t speak for the player base 🤷♀️
No fear and ambush tactics are a welcome change, I mean you could barely sneak up on ft now you have alot better chance and cant be sniped from across the map(exgarating here).
A good squad will still put up a good fight.
The ability of some to track the predator even in very far distances from my POV was one of the roots of all this nerfing/buffing issues.
I just played a handful of games yesterday, but indeed, the fear might be back now… :)

Has anybody noticed the jump scare noise when you melee a FT?
(When you stand completely still or come from behind a FT member in cloak)
This is new to me. I’ve heard some new sounds for sure, most noticeable being the bullets, I’ll keep an ear out for new screams though👍🏼
I can’t describe what is sounds like n if I tried I’d make a fool out of myself 😅 but yeah definitely some new sounds added
