If anything needs to be changed here, it would/could/should be the energy consumption. Right? That affects cloak, plasma caster, vision. I’m not for this, but if an eventual compromise needs to be made because “muh Pred OP, nerf it wah wah mama wah wah” then let it be focused on the source of the energy and not the tool itself.
I’ve been running 99% FT since the update, and Predator is still beatable. I’ve melted alot. But the key difference is that it’s not a walk in the park anymore. Matches are lasting longer. There’s more pressure to concentrate on sounds and pay attention to where your team are. It’s challenging now, and it feels like an accomplishment when you defeat the Predator. When you exfil, you’re actually relieved!! When you kill a Predator, you feel like it was a well deserved victory because it was tough. Isn’t this a good thing?
I would be up for predator energy to waste a shit ton if he is sprinting while cloaked… and his energy being infinite when he is not moving at all. Same goes for vision really…
But when he uses both i think energy should stay as it currently is… maybe slower

not to mention you literally have the laser beam of the gods showing the entire universe exactly where you are while you aim/charge.
Id rather the PC be a single target powerhouse, 1 shot down but absolutely no AOE. A reliable weapon. I dont like the AOE, you are right, the PC is difficult to aim. Thats why I miss it being a skill weapon. Now it seems like no skill mini nuke, rather than a skilled aim weapon. The only argument I really can make against myself is that, the PC being a single shot powerhouse kind of defeats the purpose of the bow as they sort of fill the same role.
Still, AOE devices need to be added, But I think they should be gear items. That would spice up the equipment loadouts, and give pred a bit more utility. Though this is all my opinion, which is typically based off the movies. The PC blasts always did have a small detonation on impact, but they were never a shoulder mounted grenade launcher as they seem to try to be in this game. I dunno.
Eh He should be as visible as he was initially when he was sprinting pre 2.05. It was perfect at close range, but at long range it was too visible. The long range is fixed now, (though that could use some toning back a bit too), So the close range needs to be visible again imo. Theres no reason he should be so mobile with the cloak being as effective as it is at the same time.

At some point energy will likely need to be revisited, but right now I think the issue is all of the tools that use it are having identity crisis that need to be worked out before the energy can be rebalanced properly.
Thats very good to hear. I still havent played hunt since the patch dropped and likely wont for a while. but While I do have my opinions about the cloak, I really am gonna sit on what needs to be done about it for about a month. By then people will be back on the saddle and we will see how it plays in practice.
The blast needs nerfing back to it was but revert back the one shot imo… then it would be perfect deadly range weapon honestly…
Its the players fault he didnt move out in the time of the charge or when he didnt see predators ACTUAL LASER
Maybe a cooldown between shots to stop short burst spam? Like, the same time it takes to charge after a fully charged shot between mini bursts…
For me, Shoulder Caster is for flushing FT out of spots, softening them up before going in for the kill. I’ve only recently started using it more. The red targeting beam does give a direct line for any snipers to demask you before you have even fired it off unless you’re using Dithered Lens (which is super amazing, barely detectable), but that’s the balance I think for being able to land a fully charged shot.
And remember, this is PLASMA we are talking about. It would realistically have a wide AOE.
I never got to play 1.05, I started playing just after 1.06 dropped so I don’t have that frame of reference… I hear tales of one shot downs, and it hurts🤣

If its to remain a room clearing utility weapon, then the simple solution is that it only has an AOE effect at full charge. Taps and half charges no longer have aoe and do petty single target damage. that will space out the damage it does properly.
The burst shots should take more energy with each shot imo, like if u fire 3 in a row or even more… the energy wastes more… so i think 6 would be decent before u get like almost all energy depleted…
Until the day we have real life plasma weaponry that actually works like the shoulder cannon, in terms of projectile, ill reserve my judgements on whats realistic, and just go with whats movie accurate lol.

Yep, but the aoe was super small. People just didnt like getting baited into team wipes because they all kept running out into the open trying to revive teamates immediately after being downed like retards.
So it got nerfed and its role got changed. I literally never use it anymore unless the ft are camping. Makes me just wish I could drop it for another weapon honestly, because situations where I need it are so rare.
Yeah it was the best honestly… pure skill play only… now its like idk… xD
The only reason it was “OP” was because people didnt know how to play against it. Now people are “Dodging” plasma bolts left and right and it just makes me wonder why it ever needed to be nerfed in the first place, besides the community failing to “Git Gud” fast enough.
Yeah i think if devs continue the current map scales… aka bigger and larger… it will all come down to skill play and true asymmetrical vibes
