Only because I voted for you.
And likewise I voted for you. Sportsmanship. GGs
Exactly. I guess nobody else likes delicious meatballs. And you can be season 7 Negan, Iāll be season 10 Negan. Most fans like this one.
I like Negan as a whole character. Really shows how a loss can twist a person to do things if they donāt move past it, and that redemption is possible if they can move past it and try to be better.
And JDMās performance is just perfect as him. Really steals the spotlight whenever heās on screen, just like Negan would.
ā¦I actually just blew an opportunity to be like, āsure, you can be Negan. And I can be Negan too. Weāre all Negan!ā. Shame on me.
But yes, I completely agree. I was a fan of Negan since issue 100 of the comics, and when they were strongly teasing him in season 6 I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. I did The Walking Dead Experience at San Diego Comic Con seven years ago, which was like a huge obstacle course set up inside the parking garage and parts of the local sports stadium, totally decked out in apocalypse props and zombie actors, and at the end you meet the Saviors and Negan himself. God that was exciting for me. And when the audio of the lineup scene from the finale was leaked, I was listening to that shit for HOURS. When it finally premiered, it was even more intense. Negan was a big thing for me, still is, since his centric episodes are the only ones Iāll watch now (Hereās Negan broke me). And I just love JDM as a whole, as a person and actor. He did so well with this character, and I truly hope they give him a proper send off this fall when the show ends. Heās earned it as much, through everything, trying to redeem himself and like you said be better. If they have Maggie waste him, Iām going to be purely livid.
I actually met him at a con a few years back. Dude was so, so so so nice, to everyone. I told him how much I loved his portrayal of Negan, and how excited I was when I heard he was going to be him, and he gave me the biggest hug.
I agree. They better do Negan justice.
I hope and think theyāll let him live, as in a spin off I would love to see a Negan lives comic based episode. If he does go out, itāll be saving Judith and/or Maggie to show how far heās come, and that will show he is truly redeemed.
However I think like in the comics, there will be a time skip, show how far the communities have come along, a grown Judith, etc, and hopefully an old Negan who is redeemed and accepted, like you said, with everything heās done he has earned it.
how many issues did it take before you were a fan of negan?
and why the sudden interest in TWD? how many issues did you buy of th TWD?
I have all the issues, plus Hereās Negan, The Alien, and Negan Lives.
Negan first appeared in issue 100 of TWD comics.
You bought 100 issues of TWD? Were you a new comic reader of any other genre?
All 193 issues, actually.
Well they have announced a spin off, he and Maggie are going to New York, apparently. So it seems like unless they do time skip like they did in the final issue, Negan will live beyond the finale. Whatever fate awaits him will be in the spin off, unless they do show something with him that takes place after it, which, I kind of hope and feel they will do, because otherwise his fate remains ambiguous, depending on how the spin off ends. With all the shitty deviations theyāre done from the comics (Carl deserved better), I hope they keep his fate intact.
wow. Well weere you a collector of other comics apart from TWD? I mean to have that much attention to 193 issues must be something new to you i imagine.
ppl get into comics for a variety of different reasons. Ive been a consumer on and off during 20 years in 1970-1999.
I collected Star Wars comics before that. Walking Dead is by far my biggest collection, though.
was it plainly literary sake? The art was consistent but it wasnāt anything to write home about but I was expose to various artists over the years.
I got into TWD from the show. I didnāt get in to the comics until around when everyone was spazzing out over Glenn getting whacked in issue 100, then I started reading from the start, and kept reading every month until its end in issue 193. Its not a sudden interest at all, over the last decade actually Iāve cosplayed Daryl, The Governor, and Negan, and have a decent Negan collection. Speaking of, the only issues I own is a variant cover of issue 100, Barnes and Noble special edition of Hereās Negan with a bonus reprint of issue 100, and the comic store exclusive cover variant of Negan Lives.
They better keep his fate intact. I hope they do a time skip and show his original fate in the finaleā¦
They did Carl so dirty. He grew up in that world, he wouldnāt get careless like that.
Also hopefully last episode will have the return of a certain Mr. Grimes from a helicopter before the time skip. (If they go that way Iād pay to see his reaction to Neganās redemption and how he has changed).
I take it for you Madisyn that comic collecting TWD was a literary effort and cultural obsession. like the Hardy BOys. I find it interesting how minorities have gotten intoā¦fictionaly readings.
Comics arenāt what it used to be and niche moments are an intersting thing.so id like to know more about it.
it seems TWD is a industry collaboration rather than a slow comicbook migration. by the pen-menship its not an artistic phenominon but a cultural one that has more to do with AMC/ actors/actresses/ thegeneral response to the following.
Iām sure they will. The showrunner has gotten a lot of shit over the years for some bad decisions, like Carl, and Iām sure sheās aware of the huge fanbase Negan has. I think sheāll do him right. (I hopeā¦)
Rumors are circulating that might just happen. SDCC is next week and TWD always has a huge presence there, they always have a panel to discuss the upcoming season and show the first big trailer, so if thereās any more clues about Rick to be seen, itāll be then.
