The New FT Knife Meta
All realism in regards to Predator vs FT physical abilities aside. If the justification for the parry is for defense against a melee charge (which I agree is justified), then I think the simple solution would be to reduce forward movement speed with knife drawn, or at a minimum have it not give a boost to forward movement speed. In return, perhaps buff ASD speed.
That might actually work, or maybe not just ASD, but the direction in relation to the Pred, as long as itās not an advance towards him.
To end the knife debate forever, Iām gonna tell you a story. A group of 4 men decide to go into the jungle. And they want to go hunt down an alien gorilla with 4 knives. The Endā¦Does that sound right to any of you?

But seriouslyā¦ anytime I see a FT trying to be āSmartā and pull their knives on meā¦ I usually end up jumping away and blasting them in 2 shots ā¦ or ā¦ just relocate and rethink my strategy on how to approach them. Most predators that have issues dealing with FT using knives need to think out of the box, netgun, bow even the āsmartā discā¦ two hits of the disc and you can down a fellahā¦ might take you a few to get the mechanics how to throw it āaccuratelyā but heyā¦ all those tools can be usedā¦ you donāt need to bullrush everyone all the time :P

Iād also like to quickly point at that literally none of these were a 1v1 melee fight. I mean aliens ok, but thatās not humans sooo thatās self explanatory. But Arnold had to outsmart it and use traps which is cool, if they add some sort of traps that could be bad ass. And Danny Glover killed it after it had been shot 8 times with a shot gun blown up with a grenade launcher had its arm cut off and fell through a building. Not exactly a 1v1 duel of the fates

I can cancel out parry against any FT 1v1, but when 3 dudes run up and each knife you once, itās over. This is what Iām saying. That alien gorilla should be able to take more than 3 stabsā¦
Because of the 4v1, the minimum should be someone specializing in the FT should be no better than the worst Predator. Now before you all go off, Iām talking about specifics, not overall.
If you take the fastest fireteam class with the speed perks, you should be no faster than a no perk berserker. If you take pred damage and knife damage perks, you should kill a no perk scout in more hits than that same scout can wristblade a support with extra health and pred resistance.
Because there are four of you, no one FT should be better than the predator in anything.

ITT guy faces skilled FT after thinking he understands game. Realises he must adapt. Posts on forum complaining for another knife nerf. You know they could just mess you up with other shit too right?
The knife can probably still use work but for that scenario you describedā¦ I wish a Fireteam would do that to me. If they are gonna be stupid about it and then chase ya, drag their ass out into the jungle, find a good ambush spot, break los, then take pot shots at them or spear them or smart disc or whatever ya feel like doing because they just pissed away their greatest advantage and are now fighting on your terms. Even just cloaking to hide a weapon change to a bow mid retreat and pre aiming with your camera to get some easy shots on. Even if they are all moving around it they are all chasing with knives you are bound to hit someone even if you donāt bother aiming. Leap smash and all that good stuff. If you are playing berserker that might be more difficult but I would advise rocking the combistick and net gun if it is that much of a problem, net one, spear chuck another, smash, pull back or claim a kill and repeat or if you hit two or more take that chance to get some free hits in then fall back. Even if they are switching it up with knives and guns if they are giving chase then they are opening themselves to a world of trouble.
The issue at hand is not the tactics needed to kill the FT armed with knives, most Preds got that well under control. Itās the broken OP damage it deals and run stat boost that make them faster than a scout Pred.
It does less damage then a 2xl shot.
Compare the damage a FT knife does to the damage the preds wrist blades do, come on, keep justifying ridiculousness.

I havenāt been knifed too frequently so I wouldnāt know for sure on that.
So 600 pound space gorilla stabs you with two blades with incredible force and can rip your spine out with bare hands. Baby with a butter knife can kill it with 3-4 stabs. Sounds legit!
