THE PREY OFFICALLY TRAILER RELEASED!!!

survival of the fittest, self-reliance, using others as a means to an end etc is all sith talk but yeah NANOMACHINES SON and DO YOU SEE ANY BORDERS FROM UP HERE and fucking thanos & Joker are all extreme utilitarian moral arguments.

what @Fire is saying is predators somehow have a completely different set of established morals and no concept of difference between self-defense, hunting, and murder.
in which case their ability to reason as a sentient species must be incredibly impaired.
The ability to reason to begin with is what seperates people from animals.

We are the dominant & apex life on this planet, if anything else took this in our place they would treat us the same. It is simply nature.

That does sound interesting.

Except for the fact they don’t attack the unarmed, sickly, children or pregnant women and anyone who does is either exiled or hunted down by Enforcers. Hell there’s even examples of Predators saving humans from threats like in Requiem when Wolf saves the mother & daughter from a guy with a gun or in the comics when a Predator kills a man who is beating up his son.

Not to mention both Wolf & Scarface have saved the entire Earth.

That sounds reasonable. I have this notion of harmony in nature. Perhaps it’s ignorant.

Do they not attack because its something mirroring sympathy or because it’s not an honorable thing to do? Doing the right thing for wrong reasons…

I’m not excusing animal cruelty, its vile. I have a dog for fuck sake, he’s like a son to me. I’d probably cave someone’s skull in if they hurt him. But I won’t sit here and act like Humans are bad just because we feast upon other creatures in mass amounts; if anything else had evolved in our place they would be doing the exact same. Plus like, ā€œevilā€ exists in nature as is: have you SEEN Dolphins? They’re absolute monsters, and they’re roughly as smart as us so they KNOW what they are doing. Dolphins are evil creatures and the worst part is they are intelligent enough to revel in it. A Lion does not take joy in killing & eating, it does it because it has to survive. Dolphins will murder & rape just for fun.

Those are good points.

So we’re not alone. Dolphins know what it like to have to do necessary evil. I think it’s been said that cats can be cruel to and just kill for sport/fun.

Like are we talking zerg or protoss here.

Consider xenomorphs. Looking at aliens we know the Queen is capable of reason. Ripley negotiates with it when she’s in the hive, it doesn’t want its eggs harmed unneccessarily and so on.
They aren’t animals.
unfortunately they are bioweapons so one is naturally driven to exterminate the other to reproduce.

Predators are doing it as a passtime. Its a vacation. They live to fly around killing other sentient armed things for fun? They aren’t here to invade the planet for resources either.

Where the hell is Kass, lol? I hope she’s ok

if they have an innate instinct to fly across the galaxy to stab someone in the back then they are animals driven to kill things on a base level.

But its not that and its not even for any kind of resource they are making decorations unless we count collecting autism.

When a lifeform reaches a certain level of intelligence, the concepts of ā€œGood & Evilā€ tend to spark in their minds. For all of our faults we are a young species, we have much to learn. But I have seen greatness in us, the capacity for good matches and outweighs our capacity for evil. We must simply believe in the good of ourselves & those around us & punish those who would seek to do evil.

We have created great works of art, we have reached out to the stars & stepped upon the moon. We are the greatest life on the planet, and we shouldn’t be ashamed of this.

Yautja is a species of sentient crabs that have evolved. Ape evolution + plot armor > crab evolution.

crab brain would explain how they missed the part where they develop any concept of suffering.

They collect shells like hermit crabs are attracted to shiny things, maybe you are onto something xd

I do agree that we are more on the side of good, but is it because that’s a more efficient option? Wars an dictators don’t last. Democratic governments are a way to go, which are more good. It’s like a default setting

Except they do understand suffering, and the Honor Code demands they lessen it. Kills should be swift & painless as possible. Its why the Plasmacaster one shots everybody in the first movie. Its why City makes very precise & swift melee kills. It is the Bad Bloods like the Super Predators who engage in torture methods.

THEN THEY PARADE ALL THEIR CRAB SHELLS AROUND AND DISPLAY THE NICEST SHELLS TO THEIR MATES

PREDATORS = CRABS CONFIRMED

I suppose saying that yautja are evil may be a stretch, but as an intelligent species, i can’t let them of with unaware. I don’t know what in between.

none of this is onscreen. we just get them chokeholding people and gutting them so

Star Wars EU.

I dont think the director even said anything about badbloodisms and comics in Predators.

Are bear traps or wounding someone as bait and killing whoever comes a no-go but skewering someone with a spear and pinning them to a wall fine?
