On the animal cruelty topic, literally every livestock is an abuse, only a plant based diet (or vegan lifestyle) is a moral and environmentally green choice;
all the massive agriculture that is destroying the planet (soy and wheat) is animal agricolture (60% of the world’s agricultural land is used for beef production).
Other things like “we are top of the food chain”, “we can’t live without animal products” or stuff like that, are only excuses. The fair thing to say is “I like meat and cheese and I don’t care about the rest”, that I would respect.
