THE PREY OFFICALLY TRAILER RELEASED!!!

Not what i intended. Not sure if we can get to 1000 post, but i thought we could count

Easiest way to do it is simply rebooting the IP in a way that allows it.

Make it a series wherein we learn about one predator as the movies progress and pretend humanity has yet to really discover this thing. As the movies go on we can ruin the mystery as per tradition, but until then just have one Predator we can root for and watch humans freak out and get slaughtered by him. Eventually the government can come into play and get killed too, until the movie after that where we have a big stupid predator killing spree where he invites his buddies along to take down these super soldiers or something and we think the govt will win.

Then boom he finally does the self destruct and mortal kombat plays as he laughs and credits roll.

You can have a character do absolutely everything right and still lose.
Well executed tragedies stick with people over generic endings.

Shakespeare knew this

Fuckin A that’s why night of the living dead was such a hit. The I Am Legend adaptations as well. Invasion of the body snatchers…

…The Mist…

Shakespeare was a mid tier writer who only now finds success due to pretentious English teachers kissing the dirt he once walked upon.

Ok.
Hamlet was rehashed just two months ago.

Does Yasqweenslay make for high brow screenplays then?
And capeshit that’s overstayed its welcome since Infinity War?

Mainstream Modern media sucks too dumbass. And all the good talent is either dying or retiring. Just last year we lost Kentaro Miura, the man who defined Dark Fantasy & created the ultimate Humanist fable in Berserk.

Macbeth

lol, lmao

Overrated, poorly paced trash. Like most of Shakespeare’s work, drivel. Its not like the UK is lacking for actually good writers, come the fuck on: English teachers should worship someone like Tolkien instead considering how much his works have defined literature in the 20th & 21st centuries.

But no everything has to be some bullshit pretentious screenplay that isn’t even a proper book, or we have to spend a million hours debating why a curtain is blue when the curtain can just be fucking blue.

Death of the Author as a concept was a fucking mistake and is one of several large contributing factors as to why the vast majority of modern writing & discussion of it is ass.

Even if you aren’t a fan of his work, surely you see how dismissing the talent of somebody whose work had stood the test of worldwide critique for hundreds of years and inspired a bunch of everything else is fairly silly?

Tolkien is cool too

Some writers are just fucking bad yet find worldwide acclaim, look at the MCU. Success does not equal actual talent and this attitude of ā€œOh we should always be nice to creatorsā€ means nobody has a drive to actually do better.

If I think something is shit, I’ll call it shit.

Not big on books, but Tolkien is fantasy, right? It’s an interesting read, but it’s a bit far out there to be relatable. Shakespeare may have been difficult to read before, but i think with modern translation he’s more relatable and palatable. Shakespeare is more about characters, while with Tolkien you get lost in the fantasy world.

An ill informed understanding of the subject matter, LOTR is defined by the personal journey & struggles of it cast. Everything surrounding the Ring & Sauron is ultimately there to push the characters to a call to action, the actual meat of the story is entirely about close bonds, finding personal strength & the desire to protect one’s home. The original books don’t even end with the Ring being destroyed, the real finale was about returning home & ensuring it was safe.

You got it backwards, tragedy needs to make a comeback. We live in an era that’s afraid of negativity, which is exactly why Marvel movies have gone off the rails. Theyre so out of the loop they re-released morbius not realizing the memes were about how literally no one had any interest in another safe movie where there’s no reason to even watch it, so they made up their own scenes like when he says ā€˜it’s morbin time’ and morbs the fuck out on some thugs.

Who knows if it happened, no one saw it, so we all agree it probably did and it was the best scene in the movie.

People need to feel bad. A lot. It’s not enough that life sucks, you gotta give them hope for a character then take it away at the end to remind them of the futility of dreams, not that anyone can do anything like this chick saying ā€˜i wanna do the thing cuz you say i cant’. Right now they’re just taking established and renowned icons like Luke skywalker for example and turning him into a force bitch. Fuck that, make a new lovable character and give them nothing but potential, then rip it away and roll credits.

I guess I’m not the one for fairy tales. The books are probably better than the movies, but i thought the movies were winded and i couldn’t palate all the good luck. I did like the first one tho.

It’s called the heroes journey, it’s been around since fucking homer and the odyssey lol

You could not be any more wrong.

Modern media is BUILT upon deconstruction & tragedy. Nothing can be unironically Heroic anymore, there can’t be a hopeful message or a show of genuine inspiration. Everything has to be a deconstruction, it has to ā€œburn the pastā€ in Star War’s case and for capeshit the big thing right now ā€œWhat if Heroes were actually bad though? What if Superman was evil?ā€ You see it everywhere from Synder, to Injustice to The Boys & even Invincible.

Nobody makes an honest, genuine inspiring tale anymore. Nobody makes genuine heroes anymore. We do not need more tragedy & deconstructions, we need stories that tell the modern world things CAN and WILL be better, they need to be shown people at their best, not their worst.

Any movie where the protagonist starts out the cocky one only to be playing into the endgame the whole time is 100% kino.

She was fucked as soon as she bought that mirror from the auction thinking she could smash it.
The mechanics and backstory were the friends we made along the way.

That’s not tragedy or deconstruction, it’s just popularizing the anti-hero trope.

It’s taking who you shouldn’t be rooting for and trying to empathize with them. Theres a difference between taking a good character and ruining them and taking an already ruined character and turning them good. Rewriting heroes or reimagining them as villains isn’t tragedy. It’s irony for college students.
