Porn and death threats?
Well, here’s the deal, I was on some threads and so far didn’t see any porn or death threats.
Second, given the fact that this is the Internet, even if they do exist, both are ridiculous. Who in their right mind would do these things and who would fall for them or actually feel threatened given that you must not offer under any circumstance your address, real name…because, why would you do that? Who in their right mind would do these things and fall for these?
Bottom line is nobody needs to do bad things, and even if these things happen don’t feed into them. The forum would be good or do better being moderated but eventually how would that curve freedom of speech and expression itself? Would it be good or bad fundamentally?

Do you know how easy it typically is nowadays to get someone’s IP and find out where they live and who they are? You don’t have to give out that information to have it found out.
And I don’t see how you’ve not seen any of the porn or death threats.
And there is the thing of user agreement we sign when we make an account to anything that gives up part of our rights in order to have a safe environment

We’re long away from Dial-up times amigo. Is a no-brainer to just fall for the thing. It gets ridiculous at one point.
Tell that to a guy in KN when we had a new member join before I left actually manage to get 25+ IP addresses and tell us exactly where we lived, who we were, etc. It may not be dial up anymore, but just like Internet and IP’s advancing so has the technology to expose that information

So given that happened or a thing like that happens, you in your mind think that nobody will do anything about these and there is no law enforcement that specifically looks into these cases?

Let’s keep in mind you are on a damn forum, open for everybody, not on a deep dark Web place.
Again, you have to be extremely naive and stupid to think that threatening someone would work even if you somehow find their IPs and real life addresses just as well as one taking these things so serious thinking there are no consequences for the peers doing that.
And from your example, things get to get sorted out in the communities themselves, like you said. There are consequences for people’ shitty things like death threats. And folks take action to these things, one way or another, even as a community.

For those who are actually caught doing it yes. They have forensic IT’s come in and try to find out who and where and how to track them down. But, not always is someone caught in that case.
Sometimes, communities do something about it and other times they don’t. Everyone has been trying to get rid of Fantasma and Mentalist for a long time and they keep coming back like roaches on alt accounts for when their bans end back on their mains.
Not stupid, simply you don’t know anyone online truly and for all you know someone could actually mean it and do something. Again maybe not. You truly don’t know and for some that is a scary thing and they take threats very seriously whether it be online or in person. Doesn’t make them stupid.
Other times some take it personally. Like if someone started insulting a dead family member of yours or your kids etc. You’d get pissed and say something back. Doesn’t make them stupid either it simply makes them human for caring about others.
A lot have came from Mentalist and Fantasma in French and Spanish and some in English from many accounts they’ve made. Alot of it was removed by mods when they were around.

Yeah, if you really want to go on their asses you can get insulting and throw the same thing back. But this thing goes back and forth in both ways.
I mean you could have someone trying to pull a stupid stunt on threatening somebody online or even try something supposedly?
Yet, they know they don’t know what is on the other end and if they are unlucky enough to get close to the person or try to do something stupid because they think they are king of the hill they might get into more trouble than they bargain for.
Is too naive to threaten people and try to do shitty things online knowing you can get caught because odds are massively against the practice. Again, the Internet is not a “no man’s land” and when it comes to serious things like these…there are always consequences if the things is real. And the people in charge of security and investigations know that and will know.
The problem here is for people not to get paranoid. Think of it like this, why would you be paranoid? Because if you do you literally participate and fall for the trap of those things and feed actively into them.
Falling for such thing in the first place is actually similar to falling for the idea that if you walk out the door in any day from your house a brick might fall onto your head and is a chance for it to happen and you could get hurt(eventually ending up not leaving the house due to your paranoid thoughts). If you get paranoid like this or you fall for that you need just as much counseling as the individual doing those horrible things and something is seriously wrong with your perception of reality.
Bottom line is, to be realistic and if you feel threatened just alert the authorities and such things. If there is the case, and before things look or seem bad don’t go all bananas and don’t give into paranoia in the first place. These types of individual count on that and are being fed by paranoia, the ones that do these shady things like threats.
Did you ever experience stupid kids sending threats over messages and stuff like that?
Because I read over reddit(and don’t remember exactly who said it on what post since I stay and comment there as well on numerous posts, too many to keep account of) some of the hilarious cases where peers actually get threats from 8 year olds trying to be mean and edgy(from this game at least) and having rage outbreaks sending people, threats even as far fetched in some cases of these kids sending videos of beheading or violent content. Yet they are just stupid unsupervised kids doing it.
Now, if we look at these examples the parents need to be taken accountable for them. But wtf…eventually there are stupid kids.

No shit. It happened on reddit, people started posting porn to get subs quarantined or banned so I’m a bit suspicious of the sudden spam of porn…
