the Alpha was said to get upgraded by the scientists it wasn’t his choice and he’s not exactly even a yautja. I can’t believe I have to explain this but Yautja don’t look like this:

Now since everyone is being a fucktard today, I’ll try to settle the lore dispute.

there are two different kinds of Hish we know of. The Hish Qu Ten from “Predator: Forever Midnight” who were dishonorable child killers and just basically space conquerors and the Hish from Predator: Flesh and Blood, who had honorable clans.

absolutely none of that relates to the yautja whatsoever, I don’t know what they are or where they came from, if they are an offshoot of the Hish, but they look different don’t have as many teeth and have a strict rigid caste system and honor code. THEY AREN’T THE SAME!

The reason they revere Alpha is probably because he did free them (at one time the Hish) from slavery and become the FIRST Hunter. But I don’t think he’s a yautja. Because the box says he’s a hish. Hish =/= Yautja guys, two completely different biological systems. Hish, are able to change sex, they do this multiple times in a lifetime. Yautja have their own “breeding season” and require females to give birth, so they literally can’t be the same species.

Maybe it’s like the super Preds, where it’s a cousin race. Dogs to wolves, dogs to bears. Distant ancestors. That’s literally the only thing that makes sense.

People still argue that this game isn’t canon along with the newer movie? Get over it, it’s just like the Star Wars sequel trilogy, we don’t want it to be canon, but unfortunately it is. Waaaahhh…

If I could compare how this game is Canon to another game, take Destiny 2 for example.

In Destiny 2, a Science Fiction Fantasy game, you’re basically magical super soliders. You have a Training Grounds in Lore that is called the Crucible. In terms of being a Video Game, this is Player vs Player Multiplayer. The event of these Soliders partaking in practice amongst eachother in the Crucible Event is Canon and is mentioned consistently throughout the lore, but the specific Multiplayer battles and the various scenarios that players make for themselves, are less so.

Without Specifics, there is story behind the Multiplayer Events that are cemented into actual Lore for the universe behind the game.

How does this fit into Predator you ask?

The “Hunting Grounds” Event, Gamemode “Hunt”, is probably the same thing, a four solider squad is sent in to deal with some Stargazer Goons, and before they know it, they are faced with a Predator out on the hunt. Dutch Returns to the frontlines, yadda yadda. The Hunting Grounds “Hunt” Event and the overarching story of the O.W.L.F’s Return is Canon, while how a PC Death Sqaud just merked a Noobie PSN Scout with Yautja’s Bane and AK’s is less so.

In simple terms, the event of 4 guys getting stuck with a Predator in the Jungle is Canon among with the story of Dutch and O.W.L.F returning. Not exactly the stuff like Clash and all.

James Cameron will decide what is canon. It is James Cameron’s franchise after all.

You guys need to chill. For now just use your head canon.

BTW you need to stop talking about things like canon and especially lore. No girl has ever came over with her hot mom/sister/friend and demanded a large portion from any man who argues about lore.

Who cares if it is canon with comics?

Don’t read comics but play games.

It fantastically recreates the atmosphere of the first movie.

And the AvP movies were bad anyway.

The movies, this game (and it’s accompanying novel) as well as Neca toy lore are supposed to be canonical. The only thing currently up in the air is the Darkhorse continuity (if any of it is carrying over given its transfer to Marvel) and the older novels predating Hunting Grounds.

I get that a lot of people have this hate boner for The Predator (I personally find it an overreaction and it happens every time a new Predator movie is released) but like it or not it’s canonical. If anything changes for the films in the Disney era that’s one thing but that hypothetical reboot has not happened,

Honestly man, why would anyone create a thread, put a steaming pile of horse shit in it and than tag someone saying “its like this quz he said so”… W T F ???
First of, I have never argued that genetic manipulation is a thing in the lore – on the contrary actually. Secondly I always said this game is the best addition to the lore since CJ. Thirdly… even if I said all those rubbish things you claim I have, why the hell that makes this game not canon? Who the hell am I to decide on this?! In general why @ElderPreddy fucking WHY?!

Because we know your secret, your real identity. You can’t fool me you’re obviously the true creator of the predator franchise and your word is law regarding canon so anything you say or don’t is a direct confirmation of anything in the pred lore.
