I mean, They ARE wearing electrified fishnets…
This Game isn’t Canon!
Just to clarifay - it was a joke XDDDDD
He didn’t even take the head so no way. My headcanon is Fugitive was trolling him on PH:G forums so he got chased across space & his face punched in.
Lies 😘
You know why 😈
Well, even within its own lore, it’s a terrible movie.
- the jokes aren’t funny
- the characters are one dimensional
- the characters act irrationally
- the plot is nonsensical in terms of motivation
- the fugitive predator is too easily dispatched
- the upgrade predator is invincible, until the plot decides it’s not
That is a recipe for a trashy movie that gave little effort to writing, and tried to compensate through action and shocking deaths.
Nope. Canon gets retconed all the time, and no movie deserves it more than The Predator.
What I think they’re going for is that Stargazer is in fact aware of the Predator Threat and how continued invited conflict could bring forth severe ramifications for humanity’s relative safety, (i.e, Predators bringing in the big guns since we are practically the deer picking up the rifles and saying “viva la revolution!”)
What they want to do in spite of this is obtain Predator Weapons and Technology, and create a black market empire on the back of this stolen technology. They know how much they do from basically copying the O.W.L.F’s homework, but are shit at it anyway if their attempts in the Predator Hunters series is anything to go by. (In Predator Hunters II, while our Pred-Hunter Protagonists are in Afganistan, Stargazer is also chasing the lead for the sole purpose of obtaining the Predator’s technology/weapons, not for humanity’s sake. They get slapped by a Jungle Hunter like Pred who pretty much destroys Helicopers and the SGZ Goon army with a Plasma Caster, and only had to retreat when they dropped bombs.)
I may have to agree with Baron on this only on the fact that they seem to be keeping on with the Stargazer entity introduced in The Predator. The Predator is Canon. We don’t have to like it, but it’s there. Like how for some people, the Star Wars Sequels are Canon just as much as the Prequels are to the OG Trilogy. Or how Promethus and it’s Sqeuel the if coming at all third film will be prequels to Alien.
The good thing about this obviously is that Stargazer are exposed as the fakers and the O.W.L.F, who were replaced for like no reason at all are back in action.
If I were a betting man, i would say it was all planned, but having a movie be panned universally and then having to recycle the somewhat cool concepts from it and bring back to old ones to fix the story itself is pretty hard, but I think they’re making a good effort, no doubt in collaboration with what’s been happening on the Pred’s side of the comics.
This Thread is not canon. Ughhh filthy casuals
Why the Yautja click while cloaked? Good Question…
The cloak tickles there balls or gina respectively
Who are you to assume what a female yautja had as genitalia, could be a much larger phallus 😈
Well whatever they have the cloak is ticking said object
Just like Alien Covenant, that hypothetical reboot has not occurred yet. For now it is cannonical and the basis for the game.
😈
None of the tapes have a “OH NO THE PREDATORS WIRED ME UP TO A SPINAL TAP TO COLLECT MY AUTISM” moment so nope, light retcon.
As I said, new movies retcon old movies all the time, especially Disney. If they know fans hated some particular aspect of a movie, they can easily keep the better aspects and throw out the stuff about stealing DNA from trophies and the existence of bulletproof upgrade predators.
The story you have in the tapes of this game could be a better plot for a new film compared to the latest predator film.
Some say only films are canon. Some films and books. While others say films, books, games and comics. At the end of the day, everyone has their own idea of what is cannon and what they don’t accept as canon.
So this thread can be closed now.
You all are most welcome. 😁😂
You’re correct… but there are 3 distinct level’s of canonicity one can argue from.
1)Movies Only: This is 100% official, what the rights holders have decided is “Good enough to be shown to the masses on the big screen.”[Yes, that includes Predators, even if I don’t like that film, it’s technically part of canon.] This is considered the “PRIME” canon of any franchise, and can be adjusted and rebooted and changed as the studio’s in control see fit [see Star Wars as an example]
2)Movies and Books[including comics] This is the secondary canon, This is where ideas are more loose, but there’s generally a guiding hand of some description from the higher ups in the studio’s. This expands on things we don’t get to see in the movies, and is MOSTLY considered fair game unless otherwise stated.
3)Everything Else: This is Apocryphal canon, meaning that while yes, it’s technically “in universe” it’s free to be ignored. Games often fall into this. [The Franchise of Battletech is a great example of this, where the MechWarrior storylines are considered in this category, Star Wars is similar in this regard.]
This is even more free technically than the books, but everything can be under dispute.
As an example, Movies never show us female Yautja, however the books dive into it a bit in the AVP series of books, however in those books they are described as “standing between 9-15 feet tall, larger and stronger than the males, and known to throw their mates across the room during mating, sometimes resulting in death.” Whereas in P:HG, Female Yautja are portrayed as similar size to the males, simply thinner and more “feminine” as humans see the trait, though also described as more vicious and not as willing to “fuck around” as the males.
When having a discussion about canon, it’s important to keep these three levels of canonicity in mind.
P:HG is currently as canon to Predator, as Aliens:Colonial Marines is to ALIEN.
