This Game isn’t Canon!

Yeah, that was stupid as well. All predators are breaking their honor code, no exceptions. The hybrid creatures look good, but are a stupid concept. They were still trying to weaponize autism because global warming. And after establishing the Assassin is immune to damage, they need to kill him anyway because plot. And the emissary preds painted their armour desert camo so they can blend in easier when they turn on their cloaking and become invisible. They were just palling around with the military until they were let out to hunt, because that’s a thing. And during the highway chase, the preds and just chilling on the tank using human weapons.

The studio demanded a story that made sense, and they still didn’t get it. Yeah, they took risks, but they were all bad, so the studio told them to go safer, and he made it worse on purpose. It feels like it was written by someone who has never actually seen a predator movie, but still hates the franchise.

Wow, the first meme I have ever been subjected to, nice. Have you ever taken a large dose of mushrooms? I had an atheism spell that led me to to appreciate the philosophy of stoicism and Buddhism. Psychedelics often open people to their first spiritual experience. Of course, one could explain the experience on brain chemicals but the exposure to deeper levels of genetic information and archetypes is really quite impressive and makes you wonder about the order implicit behind such experiences.

There are some good scholarly articles, since the 60s, on the use of spiritual practices with the combination of mushrooms that has led to some positive social and inner religious experiences. Also, peyote buttons were found in a cave in Mexico that dates back to 10,000 years ago. Making it probably the worlds oldest religion.

As far as curing your atheism, I think you need to embark on a sincere quest to find the transcendent. But more important, it is required that one live the golden rule to experience even a modicum of a life beyond an animal. As far as I am concerned, if one does not believe in the next world and is capable of lying without remorse, even if one does believe in a God… any evil is possible. What say you @ElderPreddy ?

btw @SkooLBoY_SkePtiK I played with you on PS4 , gg!

I grew up in a religious family. I am aware that people have experiences that are extraordinary on psychedelics.

I would say that at the beginning of my evolution from fundamentalist Christian, to Deist, to agnostic atheist, to, finally, gnostic atheist, I would have been more open to lose interpretations of spiritually and theism. Currently, my core worldview is centered on what we can conclude either through logical deduction or experiment, so it would take much more than a chemically induced trip to convince me that my worldview is incorrect.

The first thing I like to do when talking about religion with religious people is ask them to define ”God” from their point of view. This can vary wildly from person to person, so it’s usually a good starting point.

Feelings of transcendence and reciprocity within social interaction don’t require religiosity or a believe in god. Also, wasting my single short existence on evil behavior would be fairly irrational.

Well in the early script it read more the Assassin saw the kid as a threat due to him figuring out how to kill the hybrids with the collars on. I am not sure if the emissary preds could turn invisible. Studio sounds like they made the choices, and didn’t give them much room, as in one interview studio said had to be at night to be “scary”. It doesn’t seem the studio knew what they were doing, as they thought the alternate endings that don’t make any sense even if time travel was possible.I guess we will know more, if that book releases that has content behind the scenes on all of the movies.

In the Novelization of Aliens vs. Predator, Celtic, Scar, and Chopper all prostrate themselves before a unnamed warrior god. Referred to as an “Extraterrestrial Odin”, this stoned carved effigy wielded thunderbolts as weapons.

Sounds like Zeus. It would make sense for any civilization to attribute their most powerful warrior God to lightning. It would seem rather obvious, because lightning seems to pick and choose one person to smite at a time.

However, I would imagine that the behavior of the yautja species would be governed mainly by social pressure, with no need to appeal to a higher authority, other than the most successful hunters as elders and clan leaders.

Not to be pedantic but I think you mean an agnostic atheist not a gnostic one. Gnostic is similar to theist, but is more like a personal philosophy. Modern Pagan’s, wiccan’s are gnostic in their beliefs, they have a system but not necessarily dogma (there’s room for interpretation). They pick and choose what parts speak to them and simply ignore the rest.

An agnostic Atheist can’t prove god either exists or doesn’t exist but take the position that others are making claims contrary to the neutral position. The claimant must provide proof to be believed.
Of course agnostic is also a way to say atheist without the negative cultural implications of the term. A safe word of sorts that had since taken a life of it’s own. It was invented so as to not offend people by claiming atheism.

Deists are often gnostic, they have a system of belief or knowledge but it is their own. (My fiancé is a deist.)
Theists follow prescribed philosophies, If you are a member of a major religion, and subscribe to their beliefs, you’re a theist.

Sorry, I’m sure you made a spelling mistake (but maybe not), but felt I should give some context to others on what the terms you used mean. If you are gnostic atheist though, I’m curious what that means to you?

Also, mushrooms spring up overnight, seemingly miraculously, where there are lighting storms with heavy rain.

I get where you’re coming from, but I mean gnostic in the most literal sense, that we can know there is no such being as “God,” like there aren’t square circles, at least well defined versions God.

Ha. Fair enough. But if we live our lives slaying all who refuse to agree with us, it’s only a matter of time before that is turned back on us. We should live the way we expect others should, “be the change we wish to see in the world.”

That is why we must slay indiscriminately

And with reckless abandon

That’s an awesome article. I’m a bit of a biology nerd, and I’ve never read about that.

Mounted on my wall it is then, you like your head facing east or west?

When I think of Gnosticism I mean it in as a from of secret knowledge of reality shared by an elect. This spiritual Knowing (Gnosis in Greek\ Jhana in Sanskrit) is achieved through virtue and wisdom not via reason or the accumulation of facts. Hence it is not just philosophy but is the direct knowing of the highest good, which is always divine and of transcendental origin. In Buddhism it is awakening and in Christianity it is directly touching the Spirit both lead to the realm of joy, peace, and knowledge of the self and God as one. The utter transformation (theosis) of the human condition into that of divine fullness (the Pleoroma\ Nirvana) is becoming a Buddha\saint. Faith is perfected in that the object of it is seen as real and alive, eternally so.

Your next

Does that make sense in space? Maybe I should answer in relationship to facing the wall. To the right, just like my current avatar.
