I enjoyed alien/pred 1 and so much because it had great basis/foundation in its lore; however it left many things to the imagination.
Still tbh im happy the studios put any new movies out at all even if they didnt fit what i was led to imagine in the 90s growing up on the original concepts. Boy did we wait…and wait…and…

Why didn’t he write Predators?
I don’t think Shane Black and Fred Dekker even liked how The Predator ended. They didn’t plan the suit ending or the alternate endings. Dekker said they weren’t even there on set for the suit ending. Someone from studio thought of it, but he wouldn’t say. Their original ending, although different, would of probably done better and not pissed people off. The whole hinting at a clan wars going on with hybrids trying to take earth, and no suit in the end. To me I think there may have been some planning behind the scenes with the lore to an extent with different media before change. Like how you mentioned Stargazer in Predator: Hunters II and now this game, but they may have changed due to studio interfering with movie to something they thought was safe and please everyone.
The ending wasn’t the problem. Well, I mean the post Assassin kill ending. It was the overarching plot throughout the movie that was bad. Both before and after reshoots. So if they don’t like the ending or alternate endings, but stand by what they made? Its not helping their case as all.

Yeah. It could have had the an amazing ending. Still would have been a trash movie. The whole idea of stealing DNA, the borderline invincible upgrade predator, the savant as prized DNA, and the suicidal, unfunny, non intelligent “heroes” was what made the movie trash.
The plot got cut down to not making real sense due to reshoots, like the whole idea that all Predators were upgrading was suppose to get thrown away when Edward James Olmos shows up, and the reveal of the Emissary Predators. I think the emissary Predators may have something to do with the hybrids and wanted out when they saw what the plan was. They couldn’t go to home world due to they broke honor code, so they went to earth and made deal with government to seek shelter. Fred Dekker wanted to point out they wanted to reshoot ending in night time and drastically change it, but studio demanded they make story more “comprehendible” to audience and take the safe route, I think they wanted to chase the money of other films and that’s why the ending half from after son gets taken by Stargazer doesn’t conclude well with what establish before.
Not to throw a wrench in that, but Marvel has been already kind of dropped the ball, one artist who did the first released artwork for the Alien rerelease comics has been found to have just copy and pasted images from multiple sources of previous alien media. He also took another artists work and retooled it without permission. Idk if its same artist that works on the Star Wars comics, but that has been happening too in those based on sequels. They take models and art content made by fans and other existing material and been using it without permission or credit. It may be the freelance artist, but its been going for a few months now and doesn’t look good.
