I posted a topic recently about hostile Daily Challenges, and what I failed to notice was that this was right in front of my eyes;
This promotes and encourages toxic Fireteam habits, a potential 20,000 VT reward for putting the hurt on the Predator. With 4 FT all fighting over who can do the most damage, how can this be something that is good for the game?
Seriously, these Challenges that make the Predator the target and focus of the Fireteams match time aren’t good for anybody.
That won’t stop people from going after the Predator IMO

Agreed, there will always be those who seek out the Predator but can we at least stop rewarding those players with VT and stop promoting it as a legitimate Fireteam action.

I agree. Besides the horrible encouragement to play poorly, all of the daily and weekly challenges are solely for Fireteam. I have yet to see a challenge directed towards Predators. Except for that one time they added a challenge for Preds and then removed it not two days later due to the long queue times.

The (weak and lazy) answer for removing the Predator Challenges was because they wanted to reduce Predator wait times.
Now that those wait times are around a healthy 4-7 mins a match, they could bring them back easily.
And spike them back to 15 minutes? I think maybe, a multi pred mode first at the very least before that. I want pred challenges sure but right now you’d just overload the que.
They’re hardly going to spike just because they added challenges for the Predator players. Adding Predator challenges wouldn’t affect queue times much at all.
Something needs to be added, because there’s no reward for playing Predator especially when you hit level 150. But that’s another topic in itself.
The point of this topic is to stop rewarding and encouraging the Fireteam to distract from the mission and objectives and pushing for pro-active Predator Hunting. Save THAT for the new game modes.

Thats not a flex. Randos are just oblivious. I just spend the entire match pressuring predator till he dies or we extract.
I completed mine pretty much the same way. I wasn’t going out of my way to complete them, but I was always the one to engage the Predator when they showed up and allowed the rest of the team to keep pushing through the objectives. The Daily was done in four matches, and the weekly I completed with 4 days left to spare. Considering I’m spending 90% of my gaming time as Predator now, finishing a weekly in under 3 days is still quick…and before you Devs have another ‘great’ idea and increase the required amount of damage, just remove them already.

You’re right there is no incentive to play Pred but, he’s the star of the game. Really doesn’t need the incentive here, fireteam does.
They do need to raise the level cap and or do something about experience for max level players.
It’s in the extras the fireteam is to complete missions and then exfil or hunt and secure the predator for owlf, I agree about shit fireteams that literally only hunt predators dont pick up V dont do missions, but if those challenges arent available they still do it that’s just what they find fun, and let’s be honest some teams do nothing but the missions and exfil in 4 minutes at the end of the day illfonic can only do so much buddy. In short those teams that run in and out no predator interaction make boring matches for a predator, those where the team is dogging the predators heels from the word go make a less then fun match for the pred how exactly are they supposed to force the middle ground of those two types, I get where you’re coming from but I dont see an obvious solution and with the obsurd amount of veritanium that just knife skins cost there are some who value the challenges
I agree that those Predator Hunting teams will always exist regardless of the challenges, it’s just the nature of this game. And I don’t take issue with those guys either, they can be useful to learn new strategies as a Predator.
They could start by only awarding XP and VT if the mission is completed, or at the very least the first objective. You used to only get the VT of you exfilled, which was harsh because that was during the Beserker Combistick catastrophe. Keep the Daily Objectives focused around missions and AI kills, there’s plenty of challenges for FT in that sense.
I think it just promotes Predator Hunting unnecessarily and rewards players for doing it with high amounts of VT.
