This might not be the game you want...

Also Dutch sounds like he’s got PTSD and can’t imagine friendly contact with a Yautja whatsoever.

True he is a meathead. And ofc we dont know shit about that female other than what dutch percieved. Still its extremely intriquiung.

Also I agree. The technology the yautja have probably allows them to grow new genitals and replace them and shit. Crazy surgeries like that so that they can get the full package.

As for the psychic shit. It seems like only some yautja have this trait. So how rare it is is really unknown. Unlikely that their society depends on it though in any sense…

I choose to believe he spared him because he’s given himself Yautja DNA, and she kinda liked him. She’s probably heard about him, and his reputation precedes him. She gets a social boost from having bested him, and not claimed him. Dutch remains an infamous human to sight on planet earth.

That actually makes sense. Hes like earths tourist attraction lol

Depends on? Probably not, but psychics would wind up as leaders/guides if they had any kind of stuff that enhanced their empathy/telepathy etc.

One thing that can be surmised about their society is that generally they are lead by the best hunters who go on to become elders. Its basically a hierarchy of who manages to survive long enough to become an old fart lol. Still. The psychics must have some greater role i their society. It would be a waste otherwise. Though we dont know the extent of their psy abilities. The smart disc control might be the only thing they could really do with it for all we know lol.

Dutch couldn’t get it the way Danny Glovers character did. I don’t think we register as a threat even remotely yet. Even if we do they still clearly have too much honor, and MERCY to truly be pure evil. They’re just really blood thirsty sometimes?. . . is this because they are the descendants of a gengineered slave warrior race? Seems to makes sense. Also it seems like they’re a stoping force for the Xenomorphs. What would happen if they weren’t there to keep that species in check? Are they testing us to see if we could be useful allies/friends as much as interesting opponents one day?

We’re fighting ourselves still so much in the predator universe. Even with humans stealing and trying to co-opt Yautja tech they’re STILL refusing to wipe the planet. Think about that too.

Honestly I think its two fold. On one hand clearly they use the hunt as a way of proving your worth in society. Much like klingons. I wouldnt necessarily say they are bloodthirsty. Like you said they would have wiped us out if it were that. I think that right now we are an ample source of testing for their young to prove their worth on us. We are in a sort of sweet spot in the pred timeline.

I think you may be right though about them also hoping to make allies of us in the future. (Really you need to watch the first avp right now. Its so important to this discussion). The question is, once we are advanced enough to be a threat, what happens then? Could they be intending to wipe us out just before we reach that point? Or are they hoping for something more. Thats really the question.

Hell. It could be that they want us to get on their level so they can hunt us at their full strength, with all their military might.

I think I’ll watch that next. Maybe even tonight.
I guess what I meant by “bloodthirsty” is it takes a special kind of thirst to be able to skin a sentient being. That’s ice cold. It’s one of the scarier aspects of them. That and their claim.

Well the trophies are evidence that they are worthy. But the skinning. I remember reading somewhere that they do that to prey they kill but deem unworthy. Im not entirely sure of the point of it though. That alone is an interesting thing they do…

They obviously occupy a large swath of the galaxy in their stories/timeline. . . we’ve got ONE planet so far… I can’t imagine they imagine we’d reach their full military might without some sort of tolerance/agreement reached between our species. Maybe as we get stronger they stop hunting our species. Maybe we confront them with logic, and reason as much as with violent resistance in a way that earns their respect and interest and not just their mercy? I wonder how that would be done? Maybe one day “Hunts” resemble a blood sport more even between our species one day. Our more advanced species in the future. Maybe death isn’t something they’re afraid of because they can have clone bodies on standby. Maybe that’s a privilege afforded to the blooded. Maybe it’s an ability learned after tripping balls and conquering a psychedelic hunt?

Maybe not only are they usually long lived, but they’ve conquered death so to speak, and just figure there’s a shit ton of us, and that one day we’ll learn what they learn about death?

That last one got me laughing. Honestly though there is just so many things that could happen. I really want more of their society but the movies pussy foot around it so much. (The predator is the exception but its genetic modification shit while not a bad Idea, is really dumb.)

One of the craziest and coolest drugs humans fuck with is DMT. I can imagine Yautja giving themselves psychic powers temporarily with crazy drugs we can’t even imagine, and astrally projecting to go fight dimensional aliens that don’t even have physical forms.

Maybe they dont exist in our dimension and are mentally fucking us while they are tweaked out of their minds

Actually it took several years for the preds to catch nolan…

No she means within the confines of the movies runtime.

Some scientists were curious about contacting other worldly entities with DMT, but found it to be “inconclusive” and “untestable” where we currently are.

It’d be pretty interesting sci-fi to ME if we were just missing components that they already had. Maybe they aren’t tripping balls and messing with us mentally, so much as they are TOTALLY fucking with us physically, and think that that’s going EASY on us compared to what some of their psychic elders (of all genders/sexes) fight.

From their Elder Horror perspective.
