The only things being nerfed is overall DPS. Technically, there are some nice buffs in there as well, which would make each weapon more unique and play to certain strengths, depending on your loadout and Hunting strategy.

Its not just the DPS that needs to be changed, every FT weapon has to be made projectile.

I agree, but that’s not really what my post is about.
Bow shouldn’t be touched, its the most balanced and the weapon it takes most skill to use on the game. God forbid the ft actually needs to be as good as the predator they are against to win the match.
Which is why I only recommended enough reduction in DPS so there is a chance to revive your teammates, assuming the predator isn’t running Vicious.
Also, with my change, the Pistol would be your weapon of choice to engage with DPS.
there is a chance. field medic, support, even a tanky assault will be able to revive with regular revive speed. It takes 4 bow shots to kill a downed FT. You can’t shoot that fast.
Only reason why people downed die by the bow is because the team was too spread apart or the others didn’t come to aid fast enough. That’s a FT problem, no a pred “too high dps” problem
Learn to take cover, use the trees, rocks, your environment. I’ve been able to dodge shots while downed. Mind your surroundings
This posts makes me sad, for what could have been. And what could still be but never will.
Obviously, if everybody is abusing the most broken specialization in the game.
One the changes listed in the original post was a nerf to Field Medic to revive in 4 seconds. My recommendations were made in the context of all the changes listed.
Are you sure…? I’ve done it many times, I know other have as well. Unless there was some other circumstance to it, I dunno. But I know I’d had a down being revived while I was pelting them with arrows and they died before they could be brought up.
I can be down with that. Plasma Pistol would now be a great hit and run weapon that favors controlled accuracy than simple spamming of the weapon’s current firepower with spread out pellets. I also like how the fully charged shots also prevent spamming and encourages more precise aiming for stealth shots. Hence why I would also advocate with smoother ADS and a new aiming crosshair to help support this new state for it.
And thanks for the response! I know it wasn’t perfect as I would have liked but I tried to the best of my memory as this game got lots of shit going on that needs fixing! I would like to hear on your opinion on new Predator passives, seeing how thats something that is being overlooked when people talk about balancing issues for the game as none of the classes feel any different compared to the diverse passives that support the classes main intentions.
I would still disagree, as I seen many people miss their shots with the rocket launcher or have the Predator dodge them no problem. The loud sound of a fired rocket alone just hints to the Predator to leap anywhere but the current spot where it is right now. And when it does hit, it isn’t much. Again, if you have to make a specific build around it to make it viable, then the rocket launcher is not in a good state. If not raise the damage to 30 points more at least.
If a pistol is outdoing a shotgun, where the shotgun is the supreme CQC weapon, then you know your shotguns need fixing. Both pistols with the exception of the revolver needs to be nerfed but raise the shotgun to have some respectable degree of stopping power. Its silly to see a Predator walk into a Fireteam firing at it with shotguns and barely come out unharmed after it kills them.

The pump action does exactly the same damage as the SAWZ at close range. How it should be, because shotguns are not effective ranged weapons unless you are hunting birds, or use a different type of ammunition, such as slug shot
Actually the SPAS-12 does more than the SAWZ, but only by like 5-10 points. I know, I used to run it on Izzy when I was going all in on Knife damage & wanted CQC back up. I’d pump a slug into them, knife, pump again, very consistent high damage because most puplic matches have the Preds run straight into you.
I see people miss their shots with everything. That’s no reason to buff any damage because of that. That’s what has got us where we are now on a DPS race
You miss more with a weapon based on projectile, meaning that there is travel time from the projectile to the target, compared with a hit-scan weapon in which once fired, its there immediately. SAWZ is much more of a deadlier threat for it then the Rocket Launcher for said reason.
Also, how are they using it bad when they are shooting at point-blank range with the Predator not even sprinting but just menacingly walking towards them. I know as I do this every time to a shotgun user who thinks they have me by the ropes.
If they are not taking a big chunk of your health with it, it means they are not aiming correctly and you are just taking the “splash” damage of it. Xeno already said what I said, the pump action does an awful lot of damage, but you gotta nail your shots
Dude, literally try it. Get a friend and tell him to bring the qr4, stand still and check how it melts you. There are players who can’t shoot a moving target, frankly there’s a lot of players like that. No amount of buffed damage will help them. But there are players who are extremely accurate… buff the damage, and you just help them, the ones who least need a buff
For predators with bullet resistance, yes. but against the larger predators that don’t have bullet resistance, the shotgun does seven points less than the Sawz50, that is 245 vs 252, respectively. What makes the “spas-12” much less effective is an extreme damage dropoff that brings the damage down to about 140 damage by 5m, which is extremely close range.
I would disable ft spotting completely on night mode. Predator is already a glowing green in the darkness. Night mode is a broken unbalanced unfair mess against the Predator that was never tested by Illfonic. Its a free to win game mode for ft, you don’t even need to be good at this game to win at night mode as ft a lot of times.
It would also make sense mechanically wise cuz there is no way anyone can spot a Predator 60m away while cloaked at nighttime. Cloaking should also get a buff during night as its much harder to spot something invisible under the cover of darkness. The counterbalance of a glowing greed wounded Predator is there so people can’t complain about finding the Predator at night.
Night map fix is easy. Get rid of the fucking gigantic moon and force FT to use Night Vision permanently, or at least elsewhere not inside a camp.
With night vision on for FT, pred’s green blood doesn’t stand out at all and is actually stealthier
