Time to end the cloaking debate (video)

Platform: PS4PRO, crossplay OFF.

An intense match against a skilled Predator @GetToLaChappa and as you can clearly see, it is possible to track cloaked Predators. You CAN see the Predator running around you easily.

Tips;

USE THE DAMN ENVIRONMENT
Keep LOS on teammates as much as possible
KEEP mudded as much as you can.
And for the love of God, USE SPOTTING for everyone’s benefit.

I agree this is finally what asymmetry is in games.

Using environment to your advantage for both fireteam and predator side.

That’s how cloak looks for me really on medium too… u just have to either pay attention to predator or just do ur missions… and if he is fully maining u guys and not letting u breathe then ofc you all need to work together to kill him.

While I can’t comment for what PC players are experiencing, from a PS4 players perspective I think it’s perfect. I’ve been playing FT alot since the update, and initial encounters were strange but once I’d adjusted to the change and become accustomed to how the new cloak worked it isn’t too hard to detect now.

You have to combine the visual with the audio elements, so people not using surround sound or headsets are going to be at a big disadvantage.

FT mains have to adapt now, and adjust the way they are approaching the match. You can’t just breeze through the mission anymore and treat the Predator like a joke knowing one person can speed run the objectives while another chases it around the map.

Yeah, that’s Khi 😊 isn’t it @GetToLaChappa

bump Because I’m still seeing whiney topics being posted saying cloak is a problem.

The problem is people have become too comfortable with the way the game has been until now, with FT being the pace setter. Pred mains have had to adjust month after month, now it’s FTs turn and people are experiencing pressure and suddenly it’s tear time.

As demonstrated in the video, you CAN see a Predator. A highly mobile and cloaked Predator at that.

I hate to say this, but it’s time FT got a taste of their own bullshit and "get gud"🙄

VENN7eance… Are you joking? You found a somewhat bad predator that pretty much just goes MELEE or tries to shoot you from up close… To show us how you can TRACK HIM? Are you serious? Yes, I can track predators a few meters from me, more so when the melee and become visible.

I actually don’t understand how those people had this much trouble with the pred and how they even lost!

A somewhat bad Predator? Whatever… A few meters? It was at ranges of 30-100mtrs at times if you read the numbers on the spot icon properly🙄

Where’s your video evidence? For all the bullshit being claimed on the forum, nobody is showing any proof of this mysterious totally invisible Predator that can’t be touched

Dude, take someone like Yuppers, ask him to do a long range with the bow and then post that video. Now the pred that has the playstyle in this video…! I never had issues (not even now) with people playing like that.

I don’t know who he is. He is not THAT bad but his playstyle does not take advantage from the current stealth system. This video proves nothing. If preds play the close game like he does here I have no issues fighting them.

I can even see him running around the edges of the AO and outskirts of the camp. I can see him approaching from distance quite a few times.

As for Yuppers, I watch his videos alot and enjoy his stuff. He’s in his own league, unbeatable no matter what you change or do. Not only is he a tough player to go against, he’s also a very respectful player too. He wouldn’t just keep way out of sight and kill the team with arrows for easy wins (a method/mindset that no matter how much you change the game, certain players will always find a way to get cheap victories). He likes to get stuck in there and fight. He will feel out the team first, and attack accordingly.

He said he would post some videos later regarding this cloaking debate, and I look forward to his input from the PC perspective.

If he runs in a straight line is one thing, try one that leaps. You can’t follow him, at least I can’t. Someone who goes in close combat the way this one did I can burn his health, not someone keeping a good distance and pestering you with ranged fire (PC/ARROWS).

Yuppers was not a fair request from my part, its just the first thing that crossed my mind since I got to see videos on him using the bow and he knows the range game. Picking some of the best preds is not a fair comparison but try finding someone that actually plays the long game and see how hard its to find him, especially in the jungle or bushes.

Khi/Gettolachoppa is a good player. James Cameron knows him personally and would take him into battle before most of you subhumans.

Yeah well Cameron should know that he is not even human, he is a Yautja…

Good Video, but I would like to point out some reasons this isnt the best example for the cloak debate.

First, This predator is doing two things, Staying well within that 40-45 meter cloak invis range, and only swinging once per pass on the FT.

Which means that in most cases that you see him in this video, he is bright as fuck because swinging his combi dropped his cloak and he immediately turned it back on, and while its turning on it flashes white for a few seconds.

That being said, there were a few times where he passes in front of you and he is actually decently easy to see. I think that is in part due to the fact that in those moments theres literally nothing else to focus on, but I also think it might be a lighting issue.

What I have yet to hear of anyone testing, is the cloak on different graphical settings, And on different maps. Because in the few times you get a good look at him full sprinting with cloak past you, he is very visible, and when im playing that is not the case. So theres potentially another factor at play. I think it might be the lighting on the maps, but im not entirely sure.

Either way good video.

If anyone has a issue with the cloak buff is honestly just bad at this game. “Cant snipe the pred 300 meters out anymore” smhh good you clearly lacked skill to begin with. The cloak is fine what needs adjusting is the clicks they need to revert them back to pre buff.

Many good people at this game(like arrow) said they overdid with the cloak. Everybody agreed that making the cloak make the pred really hard to spot would be a great change when he is outside 100-150 meters so you don’t get snipped across the map, the issue are at medium ranges.
